As for Slender Man's appearance in Lost Girl, they did a good job making him unsettling and creepy, but he only shows up in the episode proper for a short bit, and he gets killed by a gator man. He also was apparently the Pied Piper.

Perhaps they're purposely taking their time so they can space out their gaps better for whatever they have planned for April 4th, since obviously something significant is going to happen then.

What the fuck? I was always told that "Dexter's Rude Removal" was an urban legend!

Whoa, I thought I would never get to see this. I only wish it wasn't beeped, so that I could enjoy it in all its obscene glory.

Let me guess, you were told that about The Slender Man too. Poor, naive Serum...

Somehow I had never heard about this before. I always liked the "Not sure the network will be willing to air this episode? Make it anyway." philosophy with cartoons in the 90's.

I hope I'm not the only one who appreciates the irony here.

Well, yeah-- because it's on the internet-- and 99 percent of the stuff on the internet is fake. That's why all the people who go to college complain that they can't use it to reference in their papers-- because nothing on it is true.

Also, I see what you did there. I guess censorship can be fun!

I do not believe you. Nice try.

Here's a list of all my personal favorite Internet scary things. Pretty subjective. Maybe it'll help you wait for the next entry.

Nothing on the list is exactly obscure and I expect that everyone here is already familiar with >50% of these, but the remaining <=50% might still be new to you.

So, in no order:

1. Ted the Caver A kind of a creepypasta-before-creepypasta-existed, long story that starts slow but gradually gets scarier and scarier. Features charmingly amateurish writing (which adds to the believability), diagrams masterfully drawn in MSPaint and the infamous Ted the Caver ending. A classic.

2. His Face All Red A very effective and well made comic, atmospheric, strange and memorable. I think it was on Reddit not long ago. A short read. Have you noticed the significance of the lilacs?

3. The Dionaea House I have mixed feelings about this one. This is a story spread across several blogs, and I really enjoyed some of these, but not the others. It never got the proper conclusion, which may be a good thing. This may be the only story ever that tried to make the smell of pie horrifying.

4. Never, Ever, Go Into The Morgue Part 1, Part 2. This is my favorite /r/nosleep story.

5. The Stairs and The Doorway Another /r/nosleep story, by a pretty good author named Unxmaal. Weird, how few have heard of him.

6. SCP-087 My favourite SCP, if you've already read it, how about trying the game? Older, but a bit similar to Slender minimalistic, bare-bones short and scary little thing.

7. Internet Story If you go to creepypasta.com, you know this one. You could title it 'ToTheArk Strikes Back or, When ARGing Goes Wrong'. Not terribly scary, but pretty amusing.

8. The Things, by Peter Watts. While all the other items on the list are by semi-anonymous amateurs, this one is an award winning story by a professional author. (That does not automatically make it superior, but I think it's solid.) A plot of John Carpenter's The Thing told from the point of view of an alien. Highly recommended if you are a fan of or at least have seen the original film, otherwise it may be a bit confusing. You can chose between listening to audio or reading text.

9. The Cat with the Hands A very short and disturbing animation. It just may be a little too creepy.

Thanks a lot for these links, George G! Too bad I can't share my favorite Russian creepy stories with you, they're too big for me to translate. I do have something important to show you, though. Come to Stinson beach so I can do it.

I can read Russian just fine, you can go ahead and link to your favorite stories. (Poor monolingual suckers will have to settle for GoogleTranslate though Smile)

I tried reading some Russian creepypastas once, just a few short ones, and thought they were pretty alright. Maybe not subtle enough for my taste. (Even the language itself lacks the word for creepy.) But I imagine there's a lot of even better Russian scary stories out there, and it would be nice to read those.

I'm gonna plug my now-concluded Slender blog here, because I really want feedback. As a budding writer who has been writing 1000 words a day every day since the New Year, I am looking for a hell of a lot of feedback from all kinds of sources. This story is a long one - 12,000 words - but it's something I am tremendously proud of, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

I'm allowing it, but this really isn't the place for that.
