HAHAH, funny you should mention that; my friend said the same thing more or less when watching it!

My now-ex boyfriend refused to watch MH with me when I was watching the series for the first time way back at the end of season one. When I finally got him to watch the entries, he just sat through the whole thing, even parts that made me jump or my heart skipped a beat, and when it was over he told me it was terrible. I guess it`s not for everyone, and I respect that, but I was sorely offended and broke up with him because of it.

.... Just kidding, it wasn`t because of MH. Rolling Eyes

...

And as for the DW discussion; I was disappointed with the Christmas episode as well. Many of my followers on Tumblr convinced me to get into it as it seemed to be a popular fandom among both my followers and those I follow. I watched a good amount of past episodes, started looking forward to the new episodes, but I was quite disappointed.

But, as I said, I guess not every series is for everyone.

I got my cousin to watch it with me a while back.

"Alex is such a dick."

Excellent bit of unintentional foreshadowing there.

She said that Alex "is not very compassionate" and during entry 40 when Jay was sitting on the log she said Jay has "a manly crotch"

Speaking of off-topic, lol Susan Strong.

Most of the people I've shown Marble Hornets to couldn't stick with it, scared 'em too much. Course a couple of times I showed it to people outside in the dead of night and would constantly look over my shoulder like I saw something during the scary moments. Kind of a dick thing to do, now that I think back on it.

Sounds like an attempt to save face to me. "Y-yeah, it was t-terrible, t-t-t-totally not horrifying or anything, in fact it was so terrible never mention it to me ever again."

Quoting this away from the Fanfiction thread
...because ToTheTapes was actually asking a question.

The females aren't always (ahem) unnaturally interested in Jay/Tim/Alex -- sometimes it's someone much... taller they have in mind.

This brings to mind a drinking game my friends and I played with MH...

Woods-1 Drink
Ass Shots-2 drinks
Crotch Shots-entire drink.

Seriously, go watch S2 and beginning of S3 and count the number of ass shots.

I didn't know where else to put this, but... doesn't anyone find it a little odd that Jay would ask Alex for the unused tapes, then get too freaked out to watch them only to discover them some time later and post anything he finds of "significance" on the internet? That's kind of a red flag for me-- it's as if he's waving a flag above his head that says "I'm a villain!" While twiddling his Snidely Whiplash mustache.

I don't buy Jay as a villain. He's too... sweetly doofy. I don't have the Entries in front of me to consult, but as I remember, Jay just wanted to prevent the waste of what had become a huge skorking wad of tapes, thinking he could convert some of it to 'B'-roll. Then Alex acted so freakin' weird about the whole thing that Jay put the bag o' tapes in the back of his closet, and he forgot about it.

The story picks up here, in my opinion.

When did he ever say anything about a B-roll? He said in the introduction that he would upload 'anything of significance.' Why would he do that unless he knew beforehand that there was something of significance on those tapes?

Also, way back, there was this quite, dorky German artist who was a bit sweetly doofy and then after he fought (and lost) the First World War he rose to power and nearly wiped an entire race of people off the planet. Confused

Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme comparison, but you see what I'm saying.

'B'-roll reference: the original SA post. Canon starts a bit sooner for me than it does you, obviously. (And yes, Troy has commented that he regards this post as "in character," so I think of it as canon.)

Isn't it a little... soon in this conversation to be proving Godwin?

I think I'd die if I played that game while marathoning marble hornets.

While entirely possible that Jay is a villain, if he is a villain, he's the biggest villain idiot ever. And considering how MH is written, I find it completely implausible from an OOG standpoint that he is a villain. Unless he's a Doctor Who villain and he thinks a good idea to divulge his entire master scheme to the Doctor 45 min into the episode, leaving just enough time, and a sonic-screwdriver vulnerable door, for his plans to be foiled.
