Please be sarcasm.

In all fairness you barely like anything. Razz Adventure Time is an excellent show with its offbeat and sometimes random humor, and the depth they manage to sneak into the lore and characters, and there needs to be more stuff like it.

And I think it's something you'd enjoy especially, Serum.

Adventure Time? That's what all the freshman girls liked that one year I was in college. No offense, I mean if you like it, more power to you, but still... it's not Freakazoid.

It's better than Freakazoid. And I loved Freakazoid. The freshman girls at your college knew what was up.

Surprisingly, everyone tells me that this thing they like is better than I make it sound. Perhaps even more surprising, I don't believe them until it has been shown to be true.

Also, I am confused at how the solution to "this show annoys me" is "watch the whole damn thing."

Neither of those are surprising, but regardless, I'm just stating the facts. The proof is in the show itself, which is why I said it.

I'm not saying you should watch it. I'm saying that what you said about the show is untrue, and saying how those types of misconceptions generally come about.

True, but I'm talking less about personal preference and more about whether or not certain elements of the story exist in the first place. In this case, they do.

Unfortunately, like Lithp, I am unwilling to consume the entirety of Adventure Time to make such a factual assessment for myself, because even narrative elements are a matter of perception and degree. (Don't make me whip out my English degree and hit you over the head with it, dude. Wink)

Which is not to say that you're "wrong," or even that I'd disagree with you. But I don't have enough of a grounding in your taste patterns to make an educated guess on the matter.

Understandable, I wouldn't expect either of you to, and I ain't about to go into specifics and talk your ears off about a show neither of you seem to care for. I'm just giving the counter-perspective, that's all.

True, but some things are objective, like "Does this work of fiction operate from an established lore?" The lore's either there or it isn't, individual perception has no bearing on whether or not it exists in the first place.

Long as it isn't framed or something.

Most of what I like is probably terrible. I don't even hate the first Transformers movie.

Yeah, some things are either there or they aren't, the trouble is, only one of us can be right, yet we have nothing in the way of examples that would be plainly obvious to the outside observer, much less something that suggests that those examples are the norm, rather than the exception. Ergo, this is a total He-Said-She-Said situation. Or...He-Said-He-Said, I guess.

I agree, this discussion is a total sausage-fest.

There's only one solution. I will have to spontaneously change sex, much like a shrimp.

...What, you can't do that?

The only thing that really matters is that you love the Marble Hornets. Wink

Have you been on the same board I have? Because I'm pretty sure that you can't get any two of us to agree on a still frame, a line of dialogue, the underlying meaning of any given statement, et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum. It's all Rashomon, baby.

Wow. Do you even know what an opinion is dude? You must be very antisocial, and I'm not even trying to be rude. The whole interesting thing about human interaction, even on forums and especially this one, is difference of opinion. This includes the supposed quality of a show or story. Difference of opinion leads to discussion and debate. You don't have to agree with everyone but just because YOU don't like something doesn't make it shit. To dismiss others so easily really alienates your point of view, especially when you are less familiar with the material in question than those you discuss it with... Which I think is the point Geneaux was trying to make. Just sayin man, you should try to lighten up, life is more entertaining when you can argue an opinion with someone without needing to "win".

Holy fuck, are you even reading, or did you just stumble drunkenly into a bunch of threads &, in a fit of self-loathing, decide to take out your problems on total strangers? Only one of us can be right because Genaux & I agree that whether or not the things we are talking about are present is a matter of fact, not opinion. Besides, you say I'm unfamiliar, I say I'm an unbiased observer.

Also, I like how this is the exact opposite of what you said in the Rage Thread.

This is hilarious.

I just like Adventure Time, man. I dig the characters and it never fails to make me laugh out loud. Wow. No, I wasn't being sarcastic. Sorry I don't have the effete and sophisticated tastes in entertainment that some of you think you have.
