There's only one solution. I will have to spontaneously change sex, much like a shrimp.

...What, you can't do that?

Not spontaneously, no.

Yeah, in the case of whether or not Adventure Time has that sort of depth already woven into it by the writers, it's either there or it isn't (and it is there, but Lithp isn't gonna take my word for it, nor should he).

I say you're unfamiliar and unbiased Wink

No worries. I've been told that there are no girls on the Internet, so it's understandable.

I'll have to look into that shrimp-transformation thing, or be in violation of Internet Law, I guess... Laughing

Please be sarcasm.

In all fairness you barely like anything. Razz Adventure Time is an excellent show with its offbeat and sometimes random humor, and the depth they manage to sneak into the lore and characters, and there needs to be more stuff like it.

And I think it's something you'd enjoy especially, Serum.

What things have I even mentioned disliking?

I agree that it has offbeat & random humor, that's why it's so terrible. "Lolsorandom" is not funny. Nor shall it ever be. The funniest cartoons generally employ layered humor. For instance, Phineas & Ferb's "Agent P" sections involve slapstick & corny puns, but also mercilessly parody the Mad Scientist archetype, & sometimes even make fun of the absurdity of the show itself. Like one story is about how his plans would be so much more effective if he just built weapons instead of trying to invent crazy evil devices. In either case, I don't find the characters particularly deep. It's kind of hard to have character depth without a clear narrative.

Funnily enough, the majority of Adventure Time's humor is layered. That you don't recognize that and that you claim the show has no clear narrative tells me you haven't seen enough of it. I understand where you're coming from though, it seems a hell of a lot more random than it actually is, but once I watched them all in order, I realized that it does have a solid narrative, established lore, layered humor, deep characters, and even set laws of physics all at work in that fictional world. They just don't shove it into the viewer's face. It's definitely one of those shows that lays out each episode assuming you're already familiar with everything that's going on, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. You need to be a fan of seemingly random humor to enjoy the show in disjointed segments, which is why I wasn't into the show when I caught it on TV. I forget what compelled me to get into the show proper, but I'm glad I did.

Exactly, like the Simon and Marcy episodes. On the surface all you see is a crazy old wizard and a vampire lady....then it gets really deep and depressing (I still can't listen to the theme from Cheers without feeling like crap)

The lore for the world is there, it's just very spread out that makes it annoying to piece together what's happened. That's not for everyone. I've tried showing people Adventure Time and a few episodes in they stop and tell me it "just a show for druggies". Not for everyone obviously.

I'm pretty sure what I said about shrimp is true. It's been a while since biology. I thought about clownfish, but they change permanently, when they reach a certain age.

I just like Adventure Time, man. I dig the characters and it never fails to make me laugh out loud. Wow. No, I wasn't being sarcastic. Sorry I don't have the effete and sophisticated tastes in entertainment that some of you think you have.

There are a lot of things I like that I wouldn't necessarily call "new classics."

On a less serious note, it always struck me as odd how the characters apparently lack elbows.

An animation quirk that led to what is easily the worst Creepypasta story I have ever read.

I thought it might've been interesting if Jay posted something yesterday about his parents, like being sad that he's so far away from them, or wishing they hadn't had a falling out, or wishing they were still alive, or wishing he had them in the first place because he's an orphan. But I guess it'd be more in character for him to just say nothing and spend the day doing...whatever it is Jay does on a regular day.

Why is Tim Thor? Thor was terrible-- both the movie and the character. Tim should be SpiderTim.

Tim is above a god. Tim has dominion over puny gods like Thor and Jesus Christ.

Spiderman was not part of the Avengers (the movie version).

Exactly. Tim works on his own. He doesn't need other, lesser heroes to help him.
