Favorite Moments from MH Seasons 1 and 2?
"Be silent. This is the best part."

So this has probably done a million times, but I can never get enough of talking about my favorite moments in Marble Hornets, no matter which season it is. I mean, this series has become one of the creepiest things I've ever watched because it's just so well-made. Just to start, my top TEN favorite moments were, as follows:

10) Entry #6: The Operator's appearance was so damn suspenseful, it had me backed up completely into my chair and GRIPPING it for life. I find that there's nothing scarier then someone stalking the premises of you house. That entry always gets to me.

9) Totheark, "Operator": Yes, this is one of my favorites, but mainly because it was one of the first TTA videos that I "expertly decoded". When I found out that "Lakes In Stillness will Take Every life of the Night", was cut down to only the first capital letters of the sentence to spell, "LISTEN", it was actually what cemented my obsession with analyzing Totheark's videos.

8) Introduction: This video is not only essential for me to understand the rest of what's going on, but it's also one of my favorite videos from Marble Hornets. Just being able to connect with Jay through the story about his old friend and his new-found "mission" to go through the tapes are all felt and presented in this one video. It'll forever be one of my favorites because of that.

7) Entry #43: I had suspicions earlier in the series that Alex was involved with the Operator in some way, but after seeing him approach it in this episode, I was convinced. I assumed that that moment in the series was when Alex became a proxy, and justified his actions in Entries 35, 38, 45, 46, 49, 51, and 52. It was such a great turning point, and it makes me more interested in Alex's character.

6) Entry #3: This has nothing definitively scary about it, and that's why I love it so much. It establishes that, not every entry will be a tensious wait-and-see moment where the Operator will show up at any time. It does, however, give the viewer a realization that, after just TWO entries, they're already looking for him in the background. That's how it worked for me, and the fact that MH got me paranoid after just 2 entries, I have to give them props.

5) Entry 26: If I didn't add this one, I'd be a fool. The ending of this video gives me chills. Having the Operator show up in Alex's house, after establishing that Alex appears to have become more like his old self is a great idea, just because it gives the viewer the thought that, no matter what, Alex cannot escape. Also, the silhouette shot of the Operator walking up the stairs still horrifies me to this day. Amazing work on that entry, and a great wrap-up to season 1.

4) Entry #46: I had to include this one. I'm not much of a fan of jump scares, but this one just worked so well. The timing between seeing the Operator at the window, the back-and-forth between Jay and Alex (not the best acting, I'll admit), and then the sudden change in position of the Operator to the inside of the house, it was just so nicely done. It still scares me even when I know it's coming.

3) enttry #37: There is nothing scarier, in my opinion, than change. All of the entries follow this pattern of beginning with an entry # and then something from Jay's perspective. Videos like this one and "Entry ######" scare me because they are just so drastically different. They help to show that Jay is staring to lose a grip on everything, even something so simple as his YouTube channel's security. And just as a sidenote, the music that plays in the outdoor part of the video freaks me out more than seeing the Operator at the end of the video. That music is just impossible for me to listen to with the lights off.

2) Totheark, "Return": I simply cannot watch this video without finding it scary. I don't know what scares me more: The appearance of the Operator or Jay's twisted and, yet, blank expression when under its influence. That video is just horrifying to me.

1) Entry #18: This is, and always will be my favorite entry. The premise of it was good. The thought of Jay returning to the house that had already been established in Entry #16 as creepy and ominous was already bad enough. What made things even more frightening was the first and, in my opinion, best appearance of Masky in the series. Seeing him at the end of the hall made me scared and automatically think, "Holy shit. Oh shit. Get out of there, dude." Then, when Masky got up and ran in his direction, I'll admit, I paused the video the first time I saw it to take a breath. I couldn't handle it the first time around, it was so creepy. It's now become one of my favorite entries and I love watching it just for kicks.

I want to know what everyone else's favorite part was!

Don't really have a top 10 but the first 2 that come to mind are

1) Entry 1: I pretty much jumped of my chair when the operator turned his head.

2) Inquiry: The most frightening of all the Totheark entries in my opinion.

Oh and the one with Masky on the desk lurking over Jay.

And a lot more... (Hmmm now I need to go and watch all the entries again and write out a proper top 10 Razz)

Yeah, now that you mention it, I feel the need to go through some of the older entries and see what else I'm forgetting.

Alright, let's see...

10) Entry #27: I just loved the fact that this opened with a shot of Jay driving. That sort of callback to introduction and #26 gives this a kind of "bookends" feel that I just love. Plus, it was a really creative way to bring it back.

9) Entry #19: I just loved the creepiness of this one. The revelation that Jay had been taping himself, plus the fact that this at the time new masked character knew where he lived, as well as the distortion, made this one great.

8 ) TTA Return: This one's pretty obvious, but still absolutely great. One thing I definitely want to see in season 3 is the operator moving more.

7) Entry #46: One of the best jumpscares in the series because of how it is set up. the buildup, then alex and jay's whispering, then HOLY BALLS!

6) Entry #6: Another great example of slendy moving, and just absolutely creepy.

5) Entry ######: Woah, this one was not only shocking, but extremely creepy too.

4) Entry #18: The fantastic suspense building followed by the crazy revelation/ scares of Masky's first appearance are absolutely great.

3) Entry #52 A great combination of important plot points, best acting in the series, great slendy appearance, and finally, this entry made me believe Marble Hornets could have really "Dramatic" moments (Alex with a gun) without coming off cheesy.

2) Entry #26: A fantastic ending to the first season and a really cool looking slendy shot make this one absolutely awesome.

1) Entry #14: This has been the only entry to date that still freaks me out no matter how many times I watch it, wherever I watch it. Scariest entry in the series.

Great picks. Those were all awesomely memorable moments in the series. And I agree about Slendy moving, it'd be awesome and terrifying if he did more.

Entry # 33 I'm surprised no one mentioned this one yet. Jessica's mysterious disappearance combined with the combination for the safe mysteriously being left behind always intrigued me. Also, the suspense as you see someone opening the door behind Jay's shoulder. Timasky jumping out is still one of the jump scares that really freaks me out.

Forecast "Here is something that I have wanted to show you" - still one of totheark's freakiest "lines", to me at least, implying that totheark has been monitoring Jay closely and savoring the moment when he could finally reveal the footage of being outside Jay's car.

Entry # 35 Alex finally being found, combined with Timasky popping out and being demasked for the first time makes this one a favorite.

Broadcast ENJOYING WATCHING YOU SUFFER-that little monologue is always spine tinglingly creepy.[/b]

Entry # 45 Seeing hoodie and masky working together, and Alex's THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOU I'LL KILL YOU! makes this one a favorite.

In no particular order:

Entry #1: This as well is very unsettling to me. There's no sound, that bit of distortion and then The Operator... it draws one in and it certainly did so for me.

Entry #6: The atmosphere makes this one for me. It's dark, it's dangerous, anything can happen. The movements of the Operator are perfect in this one and the lack of sound really adds to it.

Entry #7: The appearance of The Operator, Alex's reaction to it and the fact it was so sudden. It was a quick, simple entry that really added suspense.

Entry #11: This entry gives me plain paranoia every time I see it. The very end is one of the best parts of the series for me with the papers and the shadow. I love how it ends suddenly like it did so you don't know what happens, and you never know. A terrific entry.

Entry #14: Just. Plain. Unsettling. I don't need to say anything else.

Entry #18: My feelings have already been said before about this one.

enttry 37: Nightmare making for me. Just. Nightmare making.

Entry #46: Feelings already said.

Entry #49: This one was absolutely shocking to me when I saw it. The distortion was perfect, the comparison between Alex and Jay's footage was nice, and then... amazing.

Entry #52: Perfect in plot, perfect in suspense, perfect in just plain fear. If I were to rate my top ten, this would definitely be in my top three.

I think that, regarding Entry #52, the most shocking thing for me was NOT the arrival or attack of the Operator, but the fact that Masky saved Jay and Jessica. I was just like, "WHAT!?"

No mention of #51 yet?
That entire entry is quite possibly my favorite part of season 2. Bringing back Brian and MH only to watch him and Tim's lives to be forever entangled in the Operator's arms was a great idea. Throw in an awesome Operator sighting, some humor, and motivation for Jay to confront Alex and you have one fine entry.
