Merged thread with Season 3 discussion thread. The topic still falls under that.

Playing with other, as of yet, unannounced masked men, who will all get tied into the plot on the second to last entry and have no relevance at all.

They won't even get tied in. They'll just appear, really obviously, in the background, but no one acknowledges their existence at all. The fanbase goes nuts trying to figure out their significance, but really Trosephim just put them there to screw with us. This is exactly how they should handle any new masked men who aren't Jay.

But, but... if they're masked, how will we know which one(s) aren't Jay?

Confused

Well, it looks like we're coming to a finish. I don't have enough confidence in my theories to predict an ending, so I'll just list what I want by the time it's all over:

1) I want to know, definitively, who Hoody is.

2) I want to know, definitively, what happened to Jessica.

3) I want to know, definitively, what happened to Amy. I also want to know if Alex was ever really looking for her at all; the more I think about it, the more I think that whole story was a set-up.

4) Why did this happen? Even if they don't explain what The Operator is, I want to know why it fixated on this group of people. Did it really tag along with Tim?

4a) I want to know if Tim really saw TO as a child or not. Remember, in Entry #66 he claimed he couldn't remember what his 'hallucinations' were; it's possible he just latched onto the Marble Hornets cluster fuck in order to tell himself that he wasn't just crazy like everyone else said he was.

5) I want to know, definitively, whether Alex is just evil, brainwashed, crazy, all of the above, or something I haven't thought of yet.

6) More of a demand than a question I want answered, but I'm putting it in anyway. Do. Not. Kill. Off. Tim. I will completely lose my shit, unless they show proof that he's apocolyptically, genius-mastermind evil. And was right from the start. Actually, I'd probably still lose my shit. Rooting for the bad guy is one thing; rooting for the bad guy because you didn't KNOW he was the bad guy is something else.

7) If it turns out that Alex was knowingly, willfully evil, I want to see him get his comeuppance. No karma Houdinis, please.

Oh, SilentMedusa. You KNOW that's going to happen. It's simple. Tim is the darling of the series. He tugs at your heart-strings, kicks ass, takes names, does some pretty awesome monologues, and is extremely handsome, all at the same time. Tim's going to die, in a horrible, physically and psychologically agonizing way. As a Tim fangirl, I've just come to accept it. After all, at least he'll still be alive in real life.

*sigh* You're probably right. I guess the most I can hope for is that it'll be a heroic sacrifice that saves everyone else.

Something I only thought about the full implications of today. In Entry #51, Alex takes Brian to the abandoned hospital, claiming he happened upon it with Seth and thought it was cool so they'll just throw it into the movie as Brian's old school. Later we see in Entry #55, which takes place before #51, that Alex had actually been looking for a building to use as Brian's old school and it was later thanks to Tim that Alex found the hospital. At first this didn't seem too strange by MH standards. People in MH have their memories screwed up all the time. In light of more recent entries however, the fact that Brian had at first been looking with Alex for a location to be used as the abandoned school, then later had no recollection of that, is a little more intriguing.

From the footage we've seen over the course of the series, it appears that major memory loss among victims of TO is always caused by Alex/TO attacking the victim. One of the most striking examples is #71, in which Jay specifically wonders what else Alex may have made him forget. The question should be broader though - what else has everyone forgotten as a result of these attacks? In Brian's case, we've already seen what he forgot. Now the question is, why was he made to forget? Alex wouldn't cause his memory to be wiped like that for no reason. Most likely, Brian was finding out something Alex didn't want him to know. Maybe he was getting suspicious of Alex's behaviour or noticed Tim never came back from the abandoned hospital. Whatever the case, Alex saw fit to attack him, probably in an off-the-cuff, panicked manner as Tim described the attack in #71 to most likely be, thus wiping his memory. Then later Alex decided to dispose of Brian completely, luring the now clueless Brian out to an abandoned building where TO would attack him.

Hopefully we'll get an explanation as to how and why Brian's memory was altered at some point. Might even be on that tape Tim was hiding from Jay. And I hate to say it but this probably adds some fuel to the theory that Brian is Hoody.

Kinda makes you wonder which order Alex attacked the MH crew in. #22 seemed to imply Seth was the last, but #71 seems like it fit better chronologically as the last attack. The offhand comment about Seth in #51 could be interpreted as Seth having been taken the day before. Then there's Sarah...

Alex did claim Seth was the last one left but... his word isn't really worth much at this point.

No they are not.

Another thing worth bringing up: throughout Season 1, Brian seems to be missing a few times, like #17 & #20. Tim is in both of those, so it might not be set after #51, but Tim did walk away from that, unlike Brian.

Maybe the tape will show Tim killing Sarah, haha.

Sarah, Tim, Brian, Seth, Jay

This is the order of elimination as I see it. Jay was absolutely last. Alex was probably going to just move and let Jay live... Jay wasn't really that integral to the production (script supervisor for a script he didn't write himself, and some location scouting), and also apparently had very little memory of the whole affair anyway. He almost just let him go, but decided at the last second that he couldn't. Later that night he films the "they're all gone" confessional thing at the end of the last footage he has of Seth.

He sets aside the tape of him jumping Jay because it makes him look like a crazy person; his actions make no sense out of context. The footage of Seth was a better place to put the "gone" speech because it overall really looked like he was caught up in some crazy ass shit without appearing to be the cause necessarily.
