This is an idea that I had for my own series. However, due to a lack of interest by the other actors, I had to cancel it. Still though, I would like to see someone take a stab at it.

Someone should make a series that starts off as a research project about Slenderman mythos. Research that would include the original SA thread, unfiction, the Slender game, all the various blogs and vlogs. In this universe all the blogs and vlogs are considered fiction, obviously. As the protagonists research Slenderman, they begin to discover that possibilty that Slenderman may actually be real, or at the very least, have some sort of real life origin. I think it would be a sort of meta take on the mythos. Its a series that acknowledges that Slenderman is not real. The start of the series is just researching Slendermans impact on internet culture. But then it slowly begins to blur the line between fiction and reality. It would be great if you could even get some of the other creators involved with it. They would be playing as themselves though i.e. Adam Rosner would be playing Adam Rosner. This would give it an added sense of realism. You could interview creators, talk to fans, visit different Slenderman websites, blogs, and vlogs. Meanwhile in the background you have this subplot of the idea that Slenderman isn't limited to mere stories, and may in fact be a real thing.

Amyways, thats just an idea that I had that I cant pull off. I just think its a neat idea. I hope I explained it well enough. It sounded a lot better in my head.

Project Mythos

I think you mean mythos project

Did not even know that existed. Gonna have a read right now.

The problem with that idea is that it could get too convoluted or it will create plotholes with your series since the other series have kind of their own rules; but there's been examples of other series crossingover. Even that causes some inconsistencies. I like crossovers, but I hate when it denies or omit one of the series rules.

You can't create plot holes in a work that isn't real in your story's world.

I want to see more series with older protagonists, The dead are watching and calling of me do this pretty well, I think I would do a backflip if someone could produce something like the seedeater in their vlog, That entry in TJA when they go under the the drainage tunnel and their was all that speculation it could be the seedeater got me soooo stoked and I have wanted to see that ever since.

Minor thing, but has anyone ever made use of this:

Seems like a gift to the mythos so I'd be kind of surprised if they hadn't.

Slenderman as one of the Fair Folk
It actually fits very well, IMO

As someone mentioned in the Entity thread, the Operator Sigil from MH is basically the callsign of the Zodiac Killer. It also looks like a Celtic cross, imo, and I'm planning on using a symbol similar to Zodiac's in an ARG of my own (the character uses a lot of Celtic mythology refs). Taking this thread and running with it some more, it would be really really interesting to see a more Celtic-mythology take on Slendy, esp as a part of the Fair Folk/Kindly Ones/Aos Sithe, esp as variants of the Fair Folk are seen as being shapeshifters/being extremely tall compared to humans (the faceless part is not present in anything I've researched though)

First off, the idea of the changelings: a normal human child who is born very beautiful and healthy is snatched away by the Fair Folk and replaced with a demon spawn/changeling child who dies within a few months.
The negative reaction to new technology (the Picts seeing the Celt's iron weapons being the main inspiration for the idea of the Fair Folk not liking iron at all, as it was new and frightening to them) could be the reason he dislikes/fucks up cameras/tvs/who knows what.
The moving water as a common mode of transport to the realm of the Fair Folk- or, taking the Aos Sithe (literally, "the people of the mounds/hills", who lived underground) into consideration, using dark tunnels or sewers which would add a nicely claustrophobic feeling. And of course, the emphasis on the connection to nature/the forest fits perfectly with Slendy's more common appearance in forests as opposed to suburbs or cities.
The distortion could take on a song being backmasked or otherwise distorted, as there are also legends of the Fair Folk luring helpless humans in with song and dance.
And then there's the Wild Hunt, the Seven-Year-King (a human sacrifice every seven years to keep the Fair Folk from being cast into hell, an addition/modification by the Catholic Church).

I think this is a really good basis for a Slendy-ARG/vlog that could work pretty well. And, if not for the fact that I have my own ARG in the works, I would probably work on it myself. Wink

That fits perfectly! I'm astonished it hasn't been incorporated already.

That is really cool.
I want to see creators start playing more with both fantastic and scientific explanations for slendy.
I'd like to see some more exploration of his ties to supernatural stuff, like the fair folk, a spirit of the forest etc... Bring on the magic.
I'd also like to see some more sci-fi stuff coming in. Like parallel universes and otherworldly beings and aliens.
On that note, it would be interesting to have a scientist as a protagonist. And not a paranormal researcher, an actual scientist, like an esteemed physicist or something, who encounters Slendy and has his entire concept of reality challenged.

Scullying? =)

I do like the idea of people trying to come up with rational scientific explanations for Slendy phenomena. Especially if it turns out that they're totally wrong.

I've always kind of liked Slenderplant, but I'm not sure of a way that it could be done, without getting all cult sci fi series.

If you're talking about Slender Man being some kind of intelligent carnivorous shapeshifting plant, I think it would be fine as long no one ever used the phrase "intelligent carnivorous shapeshifting plant" on screen.

Yeah, though I wouldn't use the word "shapeshifting," but that's just personal semantics.

I just get this image of someone being like, "Behold, FIRE!" & Slenderman screeching & backing away in terror.

Like all plants =D Mandrake, maybe?

I think if I were a sinister experimental botanist, I would shout "BEHOLD" at every available opportunity.

Whenever I think of evil plants, the main thing that springs to mind is "The Happening".
Let's hope slenderplant is a whole lot better than that.

The Triffids were cool though, until Hollywood added in the dumbest weakness for a plant to have ever.

The Slenderman Mythos is really just the story of what happens when I dick around in the bio lab.
