Someone should totally set up a "Church of Slenderman". That would be amazing.

Like the the cult in Darkharvest00? >w<
I want to see more cults. They're hilarious Very Happy!

I also wanna see more good proxies! Like Patrick! Patrick's awesome! X3

Yeah I'm pretty sure that DarkHarvest has the whole religious/cultist thing covered.

Their my_final_betrayal video had, like, a Slenderman church choir. Idea Oh my god, the first Slenderman hymn guys. Everybody put on a mask and worship!!! Very Happy

What would I like to see in a Slender series? Well, this may sound a bit sadistic, but...

I would like to see a calm, level-headed protagonist. Someone who is always in control, and is always confident. Someone who does not lose their temper, someone who can inspire confidence regardless of the situation.

And I want to see them fall. I want to see them get pushed over the edge. I want to see them hit rock-bottom. I want the audience to get shown just how far that one person can fall. I want the level-headed, calm, always-in-control protagonist to lose it, in the most shocking way. For the point of this post, it doesn't really matter what pushes them over the edge, but I want them to go so far that it shakes up everyone -- their friends, the audience, everyone.

I want to see them torture a proxy. I want to see them lose it, completely, torture a proxy -- possibly even to death. I want to see them lose control so utterly that they almost completely betray everything that they stood for, everything that they believe(d) in. That is would like to see in a Slender series.

StanFrederick isn't really what I mean... I'm thinking of something like Harvey Dent from Batman or a bit like Josh from APC.

Haven't seen Broken Branches, though. I'll put it at the top of my list. (Not like that'll mean much, that is.)

No offense to any of the younger vloggers out their because there are some good ones, but I am really over the mass influx of Kids getting letters with operator symbols on them... and kids looking for "Slinder" this shit needs to stop! Just check out pretty much all of the trailheads posted in the past few weeks. Basically I just want something watchable at the very least, these past few months have been complete shit for new series.

Jesus..
Right? The mass of new mediocre or worse new series right now really irks me, and makes it difficult to find what's worth watching.

I agree. I try to archive every series I come across. For months I hadn't ever put a series in my "Not Following" folder. In the past few weeks, I've added five. And it isn't because they are too complex, or I don't have the time.

Not to mention, StanFrederickBTS is ending soon, meaning that one of the most active, good series is going to be gone; Veil of Inquiry never updates; and nothing has been new on the blogs I follow for the past month. So now I need to find another good series... Which will be hard, considering the quality of most new ones. I'm have no idea what to look at.

Pretty much exactly what I'm going through now, it sucks. For the past several months everything has been flipcam awfulness and the acting/writing/concepts are just as horrid. No suspense, no actual plot or character development, and absolutely no subtly.

I just rewatched all of Just Acquaintances (the most recent vlog that really captured me. I can't recommend it highly enough.) Other than that, Keratin, and Down My Cellar Door, I can't think of a good vlog that started in the last seven or so months.

I think we need fewer bad Slendervlogs more than we need more good ones. It's not really the lack of good writing in the mythos as much as it is a few twerps posting ten second videos of Operator symbols, which is of course annoying to those of us that want to watch scary videos and be, you know, scared. And it kind of distracts from the good stuff, making it seem like there are fewer good series than there actually are.

As for what I'd like to see in a Slendervlog, well... it's been said countless times, but I'd like to see more proxies that don't rip off totheark and actually fit into the story rather than being there for the sake of being there.

Ok, I'll add Just Acquaintances to my list of "Watch First." Should get to it within four months or so.

Also, Willow Adder started around five months ago, and it is pretty decent. It's a good ARG, but not enough people are involved in it to solve all of the puzzles. It is just starting to really move the plot along.

So, it's an ACTUAL ARG? Not a web-series calling itself an ARG? If that's the case I will come over to that forum.

Something occurs to me: Why are there so few stories where the set-up is investigating the disappearance or stalking of children?

That would be a perfect handwave for just about anyone getting involved with Slenderman.

"Okay guys, I know I usually do sports videos, but my little sister says her friend talks to a strange man at this spooky building, & she wanted me to look into it."

Crappy dialogue not mandatory.

I'd say because of the age demographic we're dealing with. Unfortunately, 25 under doesn't really lend itself to the cop type. Not criticizing, just rationalizing.

From what I can tell, early on it was very much so. Unfortunately, not enough people are involved. The last round of puzzles, for example, went completely unsolved.

It's actually not too hard to join the police force out of high school. You wouldn't be a very experienced cop, but you could be a cop.

But aside from that, what I said was that you didn't have to be one. Anyone can do an amateur investigation, especially if it's based around someone that they know.
