Amy's apartment was on the second story if I recall correctly.

Second floor, first floor, left side, right side... doesn't matter which part is considered her apartment. It's her apartment building, and we're talking about buildings here.

It's smaller, yes, and there is only one window uptop instead of three. But look at what they have in common: The roof is shaped the same way, the window(s) stick out the same way, the porch goes around from the front to the sides. I'm more-than-sure that these are common traits in Southern buildings, if movies and pictures have taught me anything.

Point is, people are saying that since Alex's apartment... oh sorry, Alex's apartment building, looks a lot like the building in the old TTA videos and the recent entries, it must be the same place, when in fact, they just share the same architectural style.

There's no denying that Southern architecture has a certain style but every region has that.

Of course. I live in Arizona and a lot of the buildings around here fall under a certain number of styles. I'm sure people from other areas would easily mistake buildings for one another if they only saw them briefly over periods of time.

Okay, I think I figured out what you mean by Southern architecture in reference to that building. I can see where you'd get that, because it's a very, very common beachfront/beach town style house, and it has some similarities to old plantation style houses and/or more recent farmhouses (the wrap-around porch is common, but not so much on the second story which is a more common feature of coastal area houses since they're built up on rafters as a precaution against high tides). However, for any town not on the coast, and especially for an apartment building (I'm assuming it is the same one) it's actually very uncommon, based on my own experiences of living in an inland southern town and spending summers at the beach.

That being said, I do think the timeline/locations seem sort of off, since this was back when MH was first being filmed (and, presumably, so was the tta response with the house shown in it) and the Alexpartment that it bears a striking resemblance to is located near Rosswood park, which, if I understand correctly, is at least a few hours' drive and also possibly out of state? I don't think it looks much like Brian's apartment at all though, outside from being brick, which in my opinion isn't that uncommon in lower income (i.e. young adult/student level) housing? You don't see brick much in newer buildings but small (or even reasonably sized) southern towns don't have tons of brand new apartment complexes all over the place and these kids don't seem like the type to live in pre-fab suburban housing, sooooo...

I don't know. Whoo-hoo, though, fascinating architecture analysis that definitely didn't put anybody to sleep.
