What the fuck else are you going to phrase an opinion as, a question?

Lol agreed. Not knowing makes it way more scary.

Sounds like lazy writing to me. But we don't actually know why Slenderman is involved in EverymanHYBRID. People assumed that he came because he was made fun of, but that was never confirmed, and judging from the fact that the Habit/Slenderman duo seems to have been active for a long time, it seems unlikely.

There is a difference between statements and facts. You can have one without the other. You are confusing statements as facts. Not all statements are facts.

WRONG. It's kind-of knowing that is scary. The idea that Slendy might have good reason to come pay you a visit is what freaks me out at night, anyway.

This made S1 way more scary for me, for instance. The idea that just using a camera could summon him fucked me over quite a few times. Now in S3, I don't own a gun, nor know Alex. So I guess I'm kinda safe. Boring.

You're WRONG. RAAAAAAAAAGE.

I sort of agree with you. Season 3 is not scary anymore. Though I don't know if that is why. Too long of a break without a scare. There is no more urgency

But you DONT KNOW how to summon the Operator... and... and you dont know his origins... I guess what i meant was "you don't know him, you just know he can come and grab you anytime he wants" PLUS you'll forget everything... well that scares me more than knowing his backstory. xD
For example, I watched the Shining, great movie loved it but everybody says it is fucking scary. I don't think so, I'll never spend 3 months locked in a hotel alone lol but the Operator? You dont know how to make him appear or disappear and stuff.

Not comparing Troy Wagner to Kubrick...
He doesn't come grab anyone.. ever. He just shows up and people get away without fail. Except Tim, and he got away seemingly unscathed despite being left prone and helpless. The Operator, unfortunately is about as threatening as a caged dog. Lots of noise, kind of scary if you get too close, but overall, nothing to really fear.

Amy, Jessica, Brian, Seth and Alex's dog they all disappeared, my guessing is the Operator got them or something... I mean they would have searched for Jay if that wasnt the case, wouldnt they? D :

They all disappeared but we don't know why. Right now there's more evidence to support Alex eliminating them than any action of the operator. Alex has threatened the life of Tim, Hoody, Jay and Jessica, and actually killed random bystander number 2. The operator is 0 for people who have had direct physical contact with it (Jay, Alex and Tim).

I'm not saying it's harmless, but when Tim Alex and Jay seem to be functioning members of society with no urgency to figure out what's actually happening.. Well, it speaks to the idea that there's little to no threat.

Well I always thought Masky was pretty scary since the beginning, exactly because I didnt know who he was and what he was doing. He was able to break into a person's apartment and stare him while sleeping, man this is something that could happen to anyone here... Now I think Masky is the cutest thing that ever happened in the Marble Hornets universe.
And I agree with whoever said that the Operator became less scary, I mean i still almost shit my pants during the entries but when it's over i dont even bother thinking about Slenderman in my room.

So we're just going to ignore the fact that any rhetorical writing instructor would side with Pravado here? Alright, then.

We're not talking rhetoric. We're talking a discussion on a board in which some users are known for being hostile toward others (and I'm not talking pravado--I'm talking in general). The problem isn't even saying "this was a shitty entry" or "that theory's incorrect" but in how users contradict each other.

"Oh, this entry was great!"
"No, this entry was shitty."

If I'm confused, it's probably because you're not making sense. Whether he says, "I think this entry was shit" or "This entry is shit," both are statements. Saying he's "phrasing his opinions as statements" is an information-less sentence.

Someone already explained to you that saying something is "phrased as a fact" doesn't mean it's true, or even that it's not an opinion, if that's what you're on about.

[Rage] I hate how everything has become harmless. Season 1 masky was terrifying. That dresser scene was creepy. And when he peaked out from the doorway. That whole arc caused me sleepless nights. Now, when masky does make an appearance he runs around wildly or just looks like Tim. Which was fine because I was hoping Hoody would fill the creepy part. But nope. TO outside of Alex's window was terrifying. TO at the end of a tunnel, not so much. I feel like marble hornets has lost what made it so amazing which was the paranoia inducing paranoia. But maybe I've just become desensitized by the wait time.. [\rage]

There is no term "phrased as fact." "This entry is shit" is phrased as a STATEMENT. If English isn't your first language, I will cut you some slack, but if it is, go back to elementary school. This isn't complex stuff we're dealing with here. This is third grade level grammar. If English is your first language, you should know this stuff already.

"This entry is shit" implies it's something you can be wrong about.

"I think this entry is shit" implies it's something you can hold an opinion on.

That's the difference language makes, and that, like it or not, is why an awful lot of arguments surface: simple obfuscation. And the stubbornness of people who contribute to it refusing to accept that maybe they messed up for once.

This is definitely something I rage about.
