I feel your pain. Every time a new entry comes out I'm expecting them to finally start answering some questions, and as of yet they haven't done so, which is terribly frustrating.

It confirmed the the return of Masky and the pills' role in keeping him suppressed (Sure, we all thought of it, but this made it explicit). It also confirmed that Jay was unconscious/in a trance for some duration of the between-entries break (which is likely part of TTA's/Hoody's plan to find the Ark).

That said, I was also hoping for more revelations.

i really don't get why it takes them so long to film these entries

like... how badly are they screwing around? all of the past few entries look like 1-2 day jobs at most, not 20+

I...I never thought I'd say this, but
I agree with what pravado has said.
Even if they have to balance school and a job, it shouldn't take this long.

seriously if you want to break this down

- jay runs through a forest (one take, done while they're getting to the location they wanna go to)
- he finds tim and tim charges at him, jay hides and tim finds him, jay runs again (might take more than one take but still, shouldn't take more than a half hour)
- tim drags him away and hoody enters (multiple takes to get it to look right, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes since its such a short clip)
- jay wakes up and finds tim (multiple takes, shouldn't take more than 2 hours)

- add distortion noises on hoody and tim, add hoodys distortion cut when he turns off the camera, very simple editing job

part 1 is done on the way to wherever they're going anyway
part 2 takes a half hour max
part 3 takes 10 minutes max
part 4 takes 2 hours max
editing + distortion takes 4 hrs max

and that's being generous. so roughly 6.5 hours total to film and edit this entry. even with the accident... 1-2 day job at most.

while i'm not entitled and understand they have personal lives and don't wanna do this all the time, i'm just showing the logic behind why the long gaps make me think they're procrastinating or something. even with a job and school, there's enough time in a day to film, esp since they all live together and i always see them tweeting about playing dnd and watching tv and shit

now don't twist my words. im fine with their pacing if that's what they want to do, it's their project and i have no right to bitch about how long they take. i'm just saying if i was in their position with something that's as widespread as this i wouldn't procrastinate

You truly have no idea how making a film works. I'm disregarding anything you think you have to say from this point forward.

Guys, calm down.
I'll just say that I had my own slenderseries for a while, and it should only take about a week to film this.

While they were out there, they probably filmed more conversation post-wake up. Maybe it was intended for #62 and got pushed back, or maybe it was intended for #63 from the start. But I bet they got more footage than we saw. I have to agree with twistedpuppet.

please oh great ones, please tell me what witchcraft they're doing that involves more than pointing a camera at something and getting it set up right and then editing

amazes me how people think something is more complicated than it is just because they have no experience with it

Gosh, some people are thick. OOG Troy Wagner Blog:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Tim is one dedicated dude, and really wanted to get the "fit" he went into to exactly how he wanted. He asked for playback after nearly every single take to make sure it was exactly right. Time consuming? Very. But if it made the final video better, I was more than happy to oblige.

This is in reference to #61, but I'm sure it applies to every video.

/conversation.

Making compelling videos is very difficult, because the the camera is always limited by itself and the person operating it. So many shots that seemed good can look like shit when you look at them later.

So far I've only really made short films for Spanish class, but it does take a while. Scripting takes maybe three or four days, and filming everything and editing can take about a week sometimes, although as these guys are pretty much professionals IMO, it probably takes longer than that. Plus you have to wait for time of day and all that jazz.

QFFT

Also, I do have experience in film making. I didn't spend 3+ years as a Mass Communications major with emphasis on Radio and Television broadcasting for nothing. Several of those classes involved actually making short films. And yeah, getting everyone together(even though we all went to the same school) was pretty damn hard. Then the shoots took several days because you had to travel to each location, and spend hours there filming to get the scene just right.

Btw, the short film was the final project for one of the classes and took into account everything we had been learning up to that point. Of course, that's not counting all the other classes where I had to put together a news story (by myself) and edit it. Editing, even when you have all the footage you need and there's only a few large chunks, can also take hours upon hours.

And let's not get started on the actual lighting of the set, or using natural light and how frustrating it is when you have to stop filming because you've lost the light you need and using artificial lights will ruin the scene.

TL;DR

It's not as simple as pointing a camera at something or someone and then throwing it up on youtube.
