Srsly though, interesting how in that distorted pic TO kinda looks like he has an eye. I'm not saying he actually has one, just looks like one.

I liked it. The Operator symbol at about 3 min gave it away a bit.

As for the camera tumble, there is a slight gust of wind as Alex walks away.

Im not sure if anyone else noticed this, and it could be my imagination, but, starting at 1:56, when Tim kind of rounds the corner and sees the open doorway, doesnt it look like something runs across the doorway? Something tall >_>

I think we finally know for sure what the purpose of the operator symbol is. Film it, and you get one slendy.

I don't think they'd show Alex so blatantly pointing his camera at it, otherwise.

It seems weird to actually be getting an answer. I don't recall that happening since Tim was unmasked in entry 35.

Seems like Alex kicked Tim's ass pretty bad, and his health was already deteriorating to the point of being unable to walk very far. So it definitely seems like Entry 51 takes place the following day.

Poor Tim...all anyone does is beat his ass in this series. And he's not even a bad guy.

Everything is falling into place now. The 'old MH footage' entries from this season have been in chronological order so far, which is a nice treat. Really lets us see Alex slowly going insane. Showing him as a friendly guy a few entries back was a really good move. Almost makes me feel bad for him.

I have a few immediate questions that I expect to be answered soon:

Why did Alex only hurt Tim, and not kill him? Was this his first attempt at making a 'sacrifice'? Did he find it more difficult to kill someone than he originally thought? It just seems strange that he would leave Tim alive when he went to the trouble of summoning the Operator. Or maybe he sacrificed Tim in a different way by letting the Operator take his sanity, thus creating Masky. He wasn't really doing anything in #51 besides rolling around coughing, so this is definitely plausible.

What happened to Seth? Obviously he was supposed to come to that area later that day, and #51 supposedly takes place the day after.

Actually, I just realized something. Entry #22 could very well be footage from later that night. Alex doesn't seem very sinister in #22 though...but this is the only way I think it can add up, unless Alex was lying about Seth being scheduled to show up later that day. He may have already been 'gone'.

Speaking of which, Alex's speech at the end of #22 could be a traumatized recap of his murderous rampage. I think there's something about being around the Operator that makes Alex into a merciless killing machine. Not necessarily an alternate personality in that he knows what he's doing, but he regrets it later.

I'm standing by what I said before about #51---Tim is obviously alive, and I think Brian is Hoody, so that leaves two options: either Alex failed at killing them and left thinking the job was done, or the Operator denied the 'offering' for whatever reason. Either way, Brian and Tim formed a mentally disturbed alliance to fight Alex and the Operator.

Has anyone attempted a timeline of all the old MH footage entries? All I'm sure of is that 'nice Alex' is early on in development, 'grumpy Alex' is after he meets our slender friend, and 'murderous Alex' is what we're dealing with now. I think the entries where he's location scouting with Jay take place first. Entry #54 might be a turning point; they may have all seen the Operator before but not thought much of it (Such as the entry when they thought he was just a guy standing in the way of their shot). They may have had fuzzy memories of the events of #54, just enough for Tim to get a pretty bad cough and Alex to get pretty curious. So Alex starts actively looking for the Operator, filming himself constantly. When he realizes the thing is following him, he starts to become a dick. He then starts mistreating his actors, thus starting a pretty iffy relationship with Tim (they don't seem nearly as friendly in his entry).

More on Brian...I don't really see how Alex could willingly lure his best friend into certain death. It kind of supports the theory I stated earlier, that the Operator's presence actually changes Alex's behavior. He's a nice guy deep down, and he couldn't hurt a fly without some help. But he has to, otherwise the Operator will keep following him.

That could explain the S2 entry where he willingly walks toward the Operator...he began to feel guilt or fear, so he needed help? Maybe to kill Amy, who was very close to him? Seems a little farfetched, but it's not entirely out there.

I just don't get his drawings...they can't be to keep the Operator away, because they contain plenty of Operator symbols. But they can't be to attract the Operator either, because he doesn't necessarily need help with that.

Back to the whole thing about the operator symbol...it's fun to look back on all the times it's been caught on camera, after which the Operator immediately appears. Now we might know why.
