 		Probably because Tim referred to her as "whoever this Jessica is", Alex only lied to her about Amy because he wanted to shut her up and keep her out of his hair and was more than willing to kill her after the fact, and Jessica seemed more worried about Amy than either Tim or Alex.

You could explain all this away with black-outs and mind-wiping, of course, but, honestly, that just seems like a cheap reveal....

Because she has no idea who Alex is. She grew up near Rosswood (Too lazy too check he phone convo in that one entry) while Alex lived near PretentiousStudentFilmLand. The only evidence you're even using is that we haven't been told if its true or not which means it automatically is true.
P.S. Ninja'd, but he brings up a good point during entry 59

I just.... I dunno sometimes. People overthink this show SO badly. The best way to guess what's gonna happen next? Look at it as a series as much as a "real life" situation. Like, Jay once left a tweet which pretty much said (I'm paraphrasing): "These ToTheArk videos' tones are so random, it's almost like more than one person is making them." My first thought was, "Thanks for the clue, Troy!" Everybody else's first thought when I used that tweet to confirm that there must be at least two users? "Well, Jay's just guessing, he doesn't actually know anything."

Now, after Hoody's reveal, I can safely say that CHARACTERS DON'T JUST SAY SHIT TO SAY SHIT. WHY WOULD A SHOW MAKE THINGS UNNECESSARILY CONVOLUTED??

 		That's the only thing that drives me crazy about ARGs. People get too immersed in the realism and trying to outsmart each other by thinking of more "clever" solutions to mysteries, when "clever" is actually just convoluted.

 		Sometimes people should realize that the extent of the mystery is also the extent of OOG creativity. Even though it's not as fun, practicality is always an issue when making theories.
