I do miss the anachronic order of the first season. I think if 57 and 56 were simply flipped in their release order it could have been far more realistic and could have built far more tension for what is 56.
But I mean, the first season was written with the premise of never extending beyond a first season, if I remember correctly; they're actively story telling now.

My god you people are picky. We've had MUCH worse entries in the series.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
OOG: Admittedly, this seems to be Troy clearing up the previous entry, clearly ending the "Pipe vs Stick" debate and comfirming why Tim was found in the Annex.

Many of you seem to ignore that this almost certainly puts this incident directly before the Brian incident. All this while maintaining the usual MH atmosphere. You guys keep asking for something new. If we kept getting "something new" than it wouldn't be the same MH we got hooked on in the first place. If you're getting bored than stop watching.

I'm considering it.

Also, there's no way you can make me believe this was the last video Jay watched. A little TOO coincidental, if you ask me :/

I WILL agree with this, although I chalk that up to slightly shoddy story-telling :-/to me, what would've been clever would have been to upload this video a couple entries back, and later on reveal entry #56. But whatever, what's done is done.

Okay, let me just say that Tim has got some acting chops to be able to visibly portray terror while trying to suppress coughing while sitting in a pitch dark room and being filmed by a noise-filled camera on night vision.

The only thing I can see for a reason as to why Alex came back to "finish off" Tim is that possibly the Operator stole Tim after the attack and the delivered him back to the hospital later. Maybe the Operator rejected Alex's "offering"? Alex somehow knew this (contact with Slendy?) and realized that if Tim was alive then he would jeopardize Alex's plans (on top of possibly going to the police). He had to make sure to definitively kill Tim in order for his scheme to continue.

"Filler"?

Making your audience feel what your characters are feeling is integral to any good story telling. This entry certainly made me sympathize even more with Tim.

As for why Alex came back for Tim - wasn't Seth supposed to come later? So maybe this happens after Seth has been fed to the Operator (as seen in... 22, 23? I'm old and forgetful). He sees that Tim is gone, and goes looking for him.

I honestly don't think I've ever been disappointed by an Entry. Some are less exciting than others, but all have a place in the grand scheme of things.

Plus Tim's acting here toward the end there sold it for me. If you can sell that kind of feeling of dread on a night-vision cam, you're gold.

This is actually a really interesting perspective. Perhaps this could explain where the maskies come from... "tributes" that the operator didn't like who then formed some sort of masked alliance.

They didn't need to clear up the pipe vs stick debate. It was clearly a pipe and anyone who thought it was a stick after hearing that metallic clank doesn't deserve to be spoon fed basic information anyway.

And nobody is ignoring that fact, it's blatantly obvious. This entry wasn't as bad as it appeared to be at first, but I don't expect 6+ minute long entries to be amazing anymore as a result, every time we get one that long (sans 52) at least the first half of the video is always filler

It just seems like there's a limited number of entries left and when each one is turning out to follow this same formula it gets pretty boring pretty quick.

I did really like the ending, but why in the hell did they not have the operator peek around the corner and slowly approach tim as he stared at it in panic and had the distortion sort of like entry 43

that would have been a far better ending and would require like no extra work

You're walking through the woods.
There's no one around, and your phone is dead.
Out of the corner of your eye, you spot him:
Alex Kralie
.

I rather enjoyed this entry. I don't think I've been this tense watching Marble Hornets since season one.

Tim running into Alex confuses me, though. If Alex was coming back to finish the job, why was he at the annex and not the burned out hospital? Why start his search for Tim there when he already knows the last place he saw him?

Thought it could've been a bit shorter but Tim's acting was pretty awesome to watch. And I thought the operator scare was a bit more subtle this time, I wouldn't have caught it if I didn't know it was coming from seeing a picture. Things like that make the entries more creepy upon rewatch. It's also only been 3 entries since 54 which was amazing. I think the time we have to wait between them just makes people forget that haha

I do want to know why Tim went back into that building though. Was he trying to get back to his car or something? I wanted to yell at him when he went back.

I don't really understand why people keep saying that those are headlights in the background while Tim is sitting down. For one, do you really think the Marble Hornets team are that unprofessional? They're keen on details; if a scene like this was shot and something like car headlights were in the background when they shouldn't be—they probably would have just re-shot those few seconds.

Secondly, a corrupted Alex walking around with a flashlight searching for you is a lot scarier than random cars.

you can see the flashlight beams at 3:15 - 3:18, it looks like someone came across tim, there's no way those beams didn't pick him up for whoever was looking.

im really sick of:

video cuts

they need to switch it up a little

The operator stalks you causing distortion. Natural reaction is run or hide. He attacks you it breaks your camera. Any time there is an operator based attack, this is how it will go. Unless there's a medium other then a camera involved that is all we can see.

Seriously why are you all even watching this series? It's a horror mystery, This one just focused on the scare after an entire season of straight story, while answering a small question. They said they're going to wrap up the story during season 3 while re introducing some season one scares. Seriously sick of going through the first few pages of discussion and every other post is OOG complaining not spoilered.

This entry was scary as hell, Tim hiding from Alex and stifling his cough will haunt me for awhile. It also filled in that small gap in the timeline. We now know for sure what happened between Tim getting piped/slendered and Brian getting slendered.

I'm also really curious whether Jays gonna straight up tell tim he's a psychopath or not. Tempted to make a twitter and ask him, but I don't think he'd respond.
