I am a little bit confused. Aren't the two groups playing "against" each other? And the answers I provided are for the experienced group, right? And Epihany is king of the innocence! Or did I miss something?

We have two nice kings it seems ... lol.

Epihany is the Green King but the Knights and the Bishop locations are the same for both so I assume she's resubmitting with the better Bishop location and adjusted the court location to compensate.

Got a curious email from youtube and may not be related at all but the facebook image has a blank chess board so it me wonder:

http://www.facebook.com/craigrantnow

probably spam though.

EDIT: Confirmed it is SPAM! Please ignore. Shame really nice profile pic.

Email received.

Subject: 3 chessboards

Player

Each side will have one, I will have a third.
Every square an hour that is now counting down.

I will return once this time has passed/past?

Puppeteer

With the attached image. If you zoom in, there is the same green pixel dot on the C1 and F8 bishops as in the Rural Pen and Voice of the Bard puzzles.

Ink, at the very least, received the same email, same image dot.

By my grammar knowledge, it would be "passed," as passed is the participle of the verb "to pass," and it's being verby in the sentence.

In conjunction with the twitter status he just posted...

Quote:

3 chessboards, with each square having an hour to pass.Once all hours have passed, I will tweet again.Until then, which side are you on? As?

If each square is an hour, then 64 hours? 2 days, 16 hours. For me, I think that'd be 2 AM-ish, June 2. Or maybe we're talking 64 x 3 chessboards, 192 hours, eight days. Though that sounds a little long.

Arbad is correct...the Bishops & Knights on both sides are in the same location. Only the Rooks from each side are in different locations.

We're not playing against each other...at least, not yet - the board hasn't been set up yet.

I received a reply from Pietro. To the theory:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Knights: Fountain depicting Horses of Helios at Piccadilly Circus
Bishops: The statues of Leda, Grief, Protection, & Adoration at Bishop's Park, Hammersmith & Fulham
Green Rooks: Statue titled Knife Edge Two Piece at College Green, Westminster

He replied:
Quote:
Knights: correct. Nominations?
Bishops: correct - which ones belong to you? Nominations?
Rooks: incorrect.

Both Experience & Innoncence are still looking for the locations of their rooks.

There has been quite a bit of chat going on in Skype & some on Facebook ...trying to solve both puzzles as one team. If you would like to join, please feel free to join the group at https://www.facebook.com/pietro.radillo ...contact details are there.

Wondering about the Green Rooks. The Sylvia Pankhurst Committee has plans to erect a statue of her at College Green, Westminster. The statue for her mother, Emmeline, is nearby at theVictoria Tower Gardens, Westminster

Do we have already a confirmation that my suggestion regarding the red rooks (crown and secptre) is correct/incorrect?

Just some thoughts:
If we assume the red locations as correct (at least two are confirmed) which form a perfect triangle and since the two confirmed are also locations for the green team it should be possible to "reconstruct" the missing locations for the green rooks.

I did this (mirroring the red rook place on the bishop-knight line) and ended up almost directly at College Green Nursery School & Services!!

At team green: Have you ever tried this placeas your location? Sometimes the simple answer is the correct one.

EDIT: Link to my map (not sure if it works): http://bit.ly/KtaVvd

You've mentioned Doctor Who once or twice. Is the name Players a reference to this, as well?

Doctor senses the hidden hand of the Players - mysterious beings who regard human history as no more than a chess board.

Endgame is another book that involves the group of immortals known as the Players. The fact that he is so focused on the game coincides with:
Quote:

Winning is everything -- and nothing.
Losing is nothing -- and everything.
All that matters is the game.

He's probably just playing along with my fanboying of the Doctor. But I thought that was pretty cool.

AUZ505, thank you for the input and the reminder to take things back to the basics... Good advice, and good observations. I'm on board with your ideas, seems like there was some over-thinking going on.

So, I dabble in topics of interest that I enjoy and being a whovian helped out with this one.

But your nod to the Endgame is quite interesting.
Considering that there are multiple titles by that name in the Whoinverse.
Perhaps you consider yourself an Adjudicator, maybe a Celestial Toymaker, but time will tell as it often does.
Time does that.

Maybe this is how he views time. While many of us have been thinking he stands from a linear view, what if he doesn't? Anyways, even if it isn't, this is one of my favorite replies in an ARG. Yep.

Edit: As a sidenote, that clip comes from Blink. It is the debut of the Weeping Angels. An episode in which a set of angels, who are in the form of statues, come to life and transport unlucky individuals back in time.

It should also be noted that at the end of the episode, we see clips of various other statues. As well.

See:

This may possibly mean that, yes, all the pieces are statues.
Or it might just be me clinching at straws.

Interesting. In response to his Facebook chess post I put up some lyrics from "Nobody's Side" from the musical Chess. From his response it almost looks like it hit a nerve.

I've responded again with a lyric from They Might Be Giants, from a song featured time and again through the previous ARGs in the hope it triggers more.

Just so everyone is up to speed...RedMosquito submitted the answers above & got a correct for all answers. However, players weren't appointed for the pieces at the time. Both RM & I have resubmitted each side's answers & have nominated players - just waiting to hear back from Pietro.

We have been working together on this & came up with these appointments (based on people who indicated they were interested here & over at FB):

Quote:

Innocence:
Bishops... SkelJelly & Quintus Septus
Knights... Strudel & seadevil4
Rooks... Singer of the Lost & amandel

Experience:
Bishops... CyberRei & Johnny Exploits
Knights... Spontaneous Bob & Auz05
Rooks...Gennbot & Larissa

Please let us know if you've been nominated for a position but don't actually want it. We have no idea what being one of these pieces is going to entail - we'll have to see what the next stage of the game involves.

For those wanting to know, we are now sure the answers are as follows:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Innocence:

Knights: Fountain depicting Horses of Helios at Piccadilly Circus
Bishops: The statues of Protection, & Adoration at Bishop's Park, Hammersmith & Fulham
Rooks: College Green Nursery School & Services, College Rd, Brent
Court of Innocence: Kensington Palace Green

Experience:

Knights: Fountain depicting Horses of Helios at Piccadilly Circus
Bishops: The statues of Leda, & Grief at Bishop's Park, Hammersmith & Fulham
Rooks: Crown & Septre, Streatham Hill
Court of Experience: Red House Tavern, Battersea Park (now part of site of Battersea Power Station)

Just waiting from the official "Correct" from Pietro but based on everything so far, we think these are correct.
