Also, I know it's been mentioned before, but seriously Jay and Tim: JUST FREAKING TALK TO EACH OTHER!!! It makes me terribly frustrated when there are situations in movies where the entire conflict could be resolved by a 10 minute conversation, but all the characters are inexplicably keeping secrets.

(See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiot_plot)

I have faith in Troseph that this is all going somewhere spectacular (like one of Shyamalan's early movies) and so I'm happy to put up with the slow pace. But I do wish that I could understand Jay's motivations for not saying anything at all ever to anyone who could possibly help him.

Totally didn't remember that. So it's a small town in a small town. *resists 'yo dawg' joke*

Also the end of entry 22 was most likely Alex lying to make himself look innocent, it's unlikely that he was trying to escape the operator.

Thus I said "supposedly". Wink But yeah, I get the feeling Alex wasn't done with everything (whatever it is he does) when he moved away.

I got the impression it was nearby since Jay was regularly stalking Alex to his house while staying in or near Rosswood, and of course Alex was making regularly trips to the park and (before that) Amy and Jessica's place.

You're expecting Jay to be that smart? Wink

Basically any time Jay points something out in black and white text and refers to something from a past video, in an entry, it almost always ends up being true. Suspicions through tweet however, sometimes turn out to be false.

Something else I thought of (nitpicking fine details for no reason cause i'm bored) - in order for jay to find his way to the abandoned house, he had to have a gps of some sort (car or "current location" via his laptop) if he did have a gps, he'd have known where he was in the season 2 opener. a car gps would have shown his recent history which would have led him right to alex's place lol.
By the "abandoned house" do you mean Brian's? Because someone told him where that was.

Hello everybody, i've been following the forum ever since getting into Marble Hornets and decided to finally register and join in on the conversation.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but when Jay sets the camera down to get out of the service tunnel we see some smoked cigs on the ground. Tim wasn't smoking at that time, but we know that he IS a smoker. Does this mean that he's been there before? Just something I picked up on and wanted to share to see if anyone thinks it makes any sense.

anyone else notice the fresh-ish ciggy butt when jay climbed out the tunnel? Doesn't Tim smoke ciggs with brown filters?

Mm... Maybe Tim's "doctor" is actually in the ruins. he was at a clinic when Jay found him yes, but who's to say right?

Would fit into Jay saying he seems to know his way around there really well.

Edit: Hah ninja'ed Razz

Slightly confused on the layout of the buildings. But I'm sure that's intentional. Either way, the room with the tunnel... When they exit it Jay asks "Which way is the front?" and Tim points off to the right, which is the direction they head. Then when they're walking to the main building the angle is all wrong. If it was the same building and you were just at the back or side of it and trying to walk around to the front, that isn't the angle you'd end up approaching the front of the building from. So do they chase him to the main building? Or another section of the annex? Or a third (or fourth if we're counting the return address/leg breaking building) building?

Highlights, for me, were:
- The general back and forth between Jay and Tim
- At about 6:10 Jay walks past Tim and all I could think was "What the poop are you doing, Derpy? Why are you letting him be behind you?"
- Jay poking the camera around the one corner about 6:15
- Jay making a point of filming where stuff he's seen happen from the tapes
- Jay not trusting Tim and going to check that one room himself
- Jay's idiotic "Still want to check out in here?" at 11:20 referencing the main building after having chased off Hoody and continuing to try and get Tim to go into the building when all common sense says "Now's not the time to try and explore any more"

I also got the impression, initially at least, that Tim didn't see Hoody. I think it would have been a good twist if he hadn't seen him at all and just thought Jay was being a flake. Similar to the episode from S1 (I forget which) where Jay goes to confront Slendy at the set and you hear the female voice ask "What is he doing?" and it was never made clear if she was referring to some guy in a suit standing there or Alex just walking off to talk to air.

Overall I thought it was an entertaining entry. It answered some questions, left some things in the dark, and set up the next entry where Jay gets his full derp on and returns, at night and alone, to explore the tunnel.

Not going to lie, I was really hoping after Jay turned around to see Hoody, he'd turn back around and Tim would have his mask on. Would have been epic!

I thought either that would happen, or when he turned around Tim would suddenly change demeanor (no mask, just obviously dropping his facade) and go "Okay, now we're here, let's chat about one or two things, Jay," suddenly no longer oblivious or uncaring, like he had been faking and was ready to cut the small talk.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, I'll read through later.

I'm definitely thinking that Tim remembers something at least. The "I've had enough for a lifetime" comment makes me think that Tim started to remember something, but doesn't want to. It seemed like an "Oh snap that happened.... fuck." moment.

Just my two cents Razz

Perhaps the events that took place there are buried underneath Tim's subconcious? It would explain Tim's aversion to the area despite the fact that Tim is seemingly naive about the whole sitiuation.

Possible. Or it could be that Tim was just a patient at the hospital when he was younger and has bad memories from then. He could be fully aware of that and that be enough for him to not want to go there and not want to share it with anyone.

Does anyone else notice something that looks like a handprint on Tim's back at 7:26?

Contrast and Compare

Entry #51

Entry #58

Notice how in Entry #58 the left side is more open and there is grafitti that wasn't there in Entry #51. Not sure if this is significant, just an observation.

it was likely a different, but similar hallway. In the OOG thread
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Someone found what the annex looks like, and it's general layout looks like 4 sections that have the same design
