Unused techniques and ideas Thread Hey guys, does it ever seem like the Mythos is being stretched a little (for lack of a better word) thin? Like every blog seems the same? What if we pooled our brains and came up with some neat ideas and stuff to try?
For Example:
-What if a Vlog series never gave us more than a fleeting glimpse of our tall friend? No static either. You'd only hear unusually long strides and other unexplained noises. The less we see of him, the scarier he will be built up in our minds.
-A Vlog were the protagonists are completely unaware of Slendy's presense, even as he picks them off one by one via freak 'accidents'.
-A Blog with a happy ending, or at least a bitter sweet one.

Due to how the Mythos work, a good ending would be extremely difficult to pull off.
Bittersweet more likely, but still.

Well, sometimes things aren't used often because they just aren't good ideas. That said, I'll try to come up with a few things here & there.
>A series without an "informant."

I'm saying it right now. After I finish Strange Aeons, I'm making that vlog where no one's ever aware of Slendy. That idea's too good to pass up.
I'd like to see:
>A series that never features one symbol.
>A series that never features a proxy
>A series that takes place somewhere other than a city or a forest. Why not Antarctic Slendy? Basically remake The Thing with Slendy if you have proxies.

Because most of us don't live in Antarctica, I would assume.

My series is to have a happy/Bittersweet ending. IF I ever get there
I've been aiming to make my series a bit more.. idk "Mainstream adventure" in terms of plot.
By giving the main character an abnormal power, gives hope, unlocking a happy ending, ideally.

I plan on not using proxies
With a little pacing, I found little need for them.
Symbols on the other hand, are they really that hated

I really like symbols. As long as they are used properly they can be effective.
For example, DDC's main character had a symbol shaped like a cross (yes, yes, operator symbol with the circle, but that was by accident rather than design). Later a character who was older showed up showing a very similar symbol, prompting theories of time travel.
I think it's the overuse of the operator symbol and symbols without meaning that are what should be done away with.

Yeah, I liked symbols when used well. Operator symbol thrown in just cause? I'll pass.
I made sure that the symbol wasn't too cryptic and mysterious, but not flat out explained.

Has anyone ever attempted a sort of.. survival horror.. vlog? Essentially, where the main character is fighting, not just running.
(Mary Asher phone call DOESN'T COUNT)
But yeah, either the character is fighting the proxies or, somehow, holding off slendy.

There's a lot of stuff from the original mythos that rarely if ever gets touched upon
-Slenderman having a face that appears different to different people
-Slenderman going after children instead of college kids
-Slenderman actually killing people instead of just making them disappear
-Slenderman doing stuff with people's organs
-Body bags (aside from an EMH reference)
-Wearing different clothes in different time periods
-"That's no tree...."
I also second the "Proxies" (I hate that word). They're still cool and all, but it just doesn't make sense for every series to have a creepy college kid in a mask make creepy videos for no apparent reason.
Oh, it'd also be cool, providing someone has the proper camera, clothing, etc., to make a Slenderman period piece. Like enttry 37, but expanded to a full series.

I wouldn't mind seeing more Time Travel events. Not just warping-but actually moving through a time stream. That would be pretty wicked.

I'm planning to avoid proxies, because they seem to somewhat diminish the threat of the main antagonist. Rather than one dangerous and mysterious enemy, you have several human opponents who do his bidding for him. It makes slender man seem less threatening by making him seem more limited. If he has to use proxies, then is he really all that dangerous on his own?
I think that it might work to bring slender man out of the forest, too, but Arizona slendy might be a little more practical.

I've never even heard of half of these.

Alternately, you can use them to show just how much more dangerous the Slenderman is when it finally does have to get its hands & tentacles dirty.
