just messing around in the terminal

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
found a password prompt when you type su

since it was a random discovery, it may or may not trigger something if we get the password. or, it could be a backdoor.

su in command lines stands for substitute user, which is often used to change to root or admin resulting in more privileges than regular users. but generally it's used to switch users in the terminal... so maybe we can look at someone else's archives, for instance.

Wondering if the first app update changed the letter mapping.

ETA not getting that command above to work in the Android app.

for ios, the most recent version 1.0.1 is dated 31st of may -the only version i've run thus far. if 'su' is only on ios, there may be an android equivalent.

but, regarding the letter mapping, the app appears to connect to the 'jackboxer' network. if there were changes then i'd suspect it would've been at the backend instead of client-side.

yesterday, i received an error message 'connection failed. unable to connect to the jack boxer system.' someone over twitter also confirmed they get the same message when they have spotty coverage on their cell. so, it's possible that certain things require communication with at least another server.

it's also possible they could push messages to comm center if we're off the game trail,

and maybe even track all the gps locations of places we leave messages in with the messenger logo via their 'air graffiti' technology(video):

Thought I'd make a FB group just in case anyone wanted to get connected and expand their JB network through the app. It's here https://www.facebook.com/groups/319147444833887/# Feel free to invite new members.

a few new comm center messages:

Quote:

subject: More from Wilkins
sanchez:
"We need to look though more of Wilkins' files. I've pushed new documents to your folder of Wilkins' Research."

archive files:

subject: audio project

sanchez:
"Trying to make sense of all this information, and a few things are underlined. Take note of those."

lucy:
"If you haven't played with the Frequency ANalyzer yet, try it out. We initially created it around this piece from Wilkins, since he was exploring music and frequencies.

You could just listen, but using the tool with the audio on the Jack Boxer site could help you understand his work." attached file: TONE.M4A 116 kb

lucy:
"Wilkins was sort of a classical music expert. Not really my thing, but this project seemed to mean a lot to him."

subject: music reference

lucy:
"Just realized you might want this also - Wilkins sent it to me for reference shortly before he disappeared. It's just the composer I guess, but there could be some other information there that we're missing."
attached: MUSUC_REFERENCE.PNG 1602 kb

lucy:
"I'm at at loss on that one. Seems like just some music scores to me, but then again, if it doesn't involve codes, data... it's not really my thing. Maybe you'll see something."

subject: found script
sanchez:
"Looked back at that research and found a script Wilkins must have created.

Run script: activate -3542"

...

Chapter 2 is up on daybreak2012.com now, plus two additional clips.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

So the D12 was the key and was a weighted (and magnetic) die (besides the shirt in the photo with a three).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The second clip shows "zero point" on the whiteboard with an arrow pointed at the doda so be on the lookout for clips covering zero point energy or a zero point field.

They should have at least rolled the right rear window down to pretend it was broken as we see it later intact. I also think Ben should have put his helmet on later perhaps. Smile

also, note that wilkins is holding up a number five with his hand in the picture. one of the decryption of his folders was pentagon(five theme), a face of a dodcaherdon... the theme continues in his research folder.

Someone with an app can try this in the decoder. It's the full sequence that Ben comes up with (only partially shown on the video clip).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
18 06 20 12 20 02 09 14 01 25 18 13 18

We missed this as we were teased with it in Chapter 1. I missed the clue re:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"the time for words is over."
Doh.

The "twelve digit key" was the D12.

Can anyone get the files out of the research folder? I can't open them for more then 5 seconds without the app crashing.

the entire research folder contents were pushed to our archive. so, story-wise they were decrypted by fellow jackboxers. it's possible that last week's links pdf clues were to lead us down a trail to this research folder but probably nobody got that far.

i have a theory that a_string.png is tied to the frequency 440hz. in music theory that is the frequency for the key 'A'.

however, real life has me put the puzzle & prometheus viral off to the side at the moment. things seem to go down when i'm stretching for time.... keep it up... there's a terminal password or two to find.

The tiny tardy doda on daybreak2012 that didn't link up to anything is now hosting the youtube energy and vibration clip.
