Even if they are only deleting inactive accounts, that's pretty obnoxious of them.

Sometimes it's discouraging to feel as though no one is reading your blog/vlog when you've put the effort into it. I've known a few Creators who've closed down their sites due to lack of interest.

I admit I've felt that way too about my own blog but I keep it open 'cause I know the few people who read it, enjoy it.

I'm so much of a hipster that I deleted my vlog before it even started.

Psh, my vlog deletes videos for fun, just to see if anyone misses them!

As one of the people who deleted their work, I could not have said it better myself.

No matter what blog/vlog I read/watch, I'm sure it's not nice to delete your own work unless it was actually to move the story/videos forward.

For example:

Vlog gets deleted.

One or few days later,
a new entry explaining the disappearance due to an IG reason.

THEN show the copies you made beforehand and plan to do something with them, like send them to an viewer or something.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm sorry, but no. Simply turning a blind eye and trying to justify deletion with an IG excuse is not going to help. The fact is that creators are deleting their blogs and vlogs fairly often, which, in a Mythos as interconnected as the Slenderverse, means that every deletion just makes the Mythos a little bit more inaccessible to newcomers. Creators also need to consider that even if they do not wish to continue writing their blog or filming their vlog, others may still want to go back and read/watch it. Not to mention the fact that it only makes those who never got the chance to watch it feel cheated. It's like if an artist takes months making a painting only to destroy it once he is done because of some perceived imperfection, thereby depriving everyone from ever getting a chance to see the painting again just because of the artists selfishness.

At the risk of coming off as extremely rude, I'll answer this bit of prose with an unseasonably non-troll response: Creator's have no need to "justify" anything to you or any other reader/viewer out there, period. You choose to invest your time and interests in any said medium of entertainment of your own free will... this does not make the creator of that chosen material subject to your petty frustrations, whims, or other ridiculous (and selfish) demands. People who choose to create blogs/vlogs have the free will and right to do whatever they desire with what they create, regardless of your interest.
Deleting a series does not take away from the Slender Man mythos as a whole. That is simply a moronic idea to begin with. The mythos will continue growing and expanding no matter what a single series creator does with his/her work.
(TL:DR?)
In otherwords, keep your butthurt to yourself and stop trying to control how creators deal with their shit.

First of all, I'm not butthurt in the slightest. I am merely trying to offer intelligent input on the subject matter at hand. I wasn't the one who started this thread, I'm just offering my input on it. So why attack me? Simply because my opinion is different than yours? Telling me to keep my opinions to myself is adding nothing whatsoever to this discussion. I am also not trying to control how creators handle their work, nor did I ever say that I was. I just feel that since deletion can be frustrating for fans of a blog or vlog, that it seems a bit selfish for bloggers/vloggers to delete their work just because they themselves are not pleased with it. I'm not saying that I don't respect the rights of artists to remove their work, I am simply saying that in the right context it can be viewed as a selfish decision. And deleting a series does take away from the Mythos. There are a certain number of series in the Mythos. If one is deleted, that means there is one less series in the Mythos. Which means that deletion does take away from the Mythos. That's not 'moronic', it's common sense. I'm not trying to control anything, I'm just trying to offer my thoughts on the issue without everyone acting like pricks just because someones opinions differ from theirs.

Is the goal to tell a story, or to be popular?

Deleting your story isn't going to make it any more popular...it's just going to frustrate your fans.

I think a good example is one brought up in the old thread in regards to White Elephants, which formed the base of Core Theory. Though Core Theory is now a large part of the mythos, that blog was deleted for "in-game reasons." Is that really justified when you're taking away from the mythos like that?
