So, as has been mooted. On a disappointing quiet news day in S8 land I figured I'd summise for those starting out, and also as a refresher for some of the recurring themes etc.,. An awful lot of trouts in the last 72h, but not surprising with 3679 posts over 253 pages. Strongly recommended is wikibruce super8 section http://super8.wikibruce.com/Home which has this and more:

- Trailer for Super8 noticed at the end of Ironman 2. Found it's way here via folks at ain't it cool.

Identifies Gordon Cooper
Gordon Cooper apparently talked about NASA using gifted children for mind control experiments. They were given exercises to try and perfect stuff like telekinesis, telepathy, and other mental powers. They included "intergalactic symbols" to aid communication with extraterrestrial beings.

Not that it matters much, but I think bostonfisherman is not actually a GJ but only an OOG coincidence - according to whois, the creation date goes back to 2009.
On the Cepheus constelation, I let it roll in another thread but for a summary I'll try to make a point: The relation of the pins (and for that matter, the stars in the teaser) hardly make a breathtaking match... Actually, if one is willing to give in to the "close enough" approach, there are tons of potencial constellations to match with. One of the curious ones (at least more than the cepheus or even cassiopeia) is Volans (the flying fish...). Eitherway, I don't think that link will amount to anything important...
Finally, and since I wasn't around during previous ARGs (namely, Cloverfield), is it normal to take this long for new clues (I'm with the ones who dismiss FB account as GJ)? I don't really know what kind of rythm to expect... Razz

Maybe things start to unfold quickly as the release date for the movie approaches?

Question for the Mods...

Can we sticky just the original post and remove the reply's? It would make it much easier to navigate without all the other "GJ or not" arguing. I know Vapor already did something similar to this, but multipsychoapopheniosis summary is way more involved and may put a stop to some of the trouting going on right now. Thanks!

If you are referring to Vapor's list of references, that's more just a collection of links, and includes many things not directly relevant to the storyline. This thread is more like the 'story so far' threads of days past (originally popularized by konamouse, the massive megaposter of uF). I don't think this so much conflicts with that.

I do think we should keep the debates out of this thread, but if we were to split what's here now, we mods need to know where you think it should be split to.

I'm good with making this topic a sticky, and I'll do so if there seems to be a consensus.

Well sir, that is the million dollar question. Other than the first post this thread is mostly just brownies or arguing. I really have no idea how to split it.
