Personally I don't think the similarities are serious enough to consider it a "rip-off". Also, it looks like it might be okay. Just okay.

Unless it were actually about a group of filmmakers trying to make a movie and being interrupted by terrible eldritch shenanigans, I don't think you can call a slender-movie a ripoff, as the character's well and truly free for people to use as they please.

That said, I just realized that describes Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID both perfectly. Huh.

Sooo...it's been given a Red Band trailer:

What's absurd is that not only is this trailer actually really good and makes me want to see this film instead of mock it, but the only reason it's red band at all is because of the language in the critic review blurbs! Had they taken them out and used this in place of the other trailer, I'd think this movie looks actually scary instead of like lame mid-budget paranormal crap. First impressions, man. They're important.
