Evidence so far seems to be:

enttry #37 where young Alex looks off camera, possibly to the Operator, followed by the Operator parroting Happy Birthday to him. This could have been doctored footage given that it was probably TTA who uploaded it.

Tim seems to have been stalked for a very long time. The ongoing mental health issues he has seem to be have been going on for years, but not ongoing since childhood. (The way he talks in Entry #59 about "bringing back memories" suggests it was a series traumatic events, rather than chronic stalking.) He knows of the abandoned hospital and claimed to have "had enough of that place for a lifetime", despite going there a couple of times, not counting the time he went with Alex, which he forgot about. To me that suggests he knew about it as a child or a teenager.

Don't know if you were already thinking about these kinds of things, I'm just putting it out there for further discussion.

Okay, here's a bit I always lose track of. Where did Alex grow up? Where was he in Season 1 and where did he move to in Season 2? Is it possible he grew up in Rosswood, moved to Genericton and then moved back to Rosswood? Because if so then that would be awesome. It would allow for so much speculation.

I'd thought of them but figured that wasn't strong enough evidence for me to back the theory 100%. enttry #37 is always iffy with me, since it was definitely tampered with.

On the note of Alex's home, I think you're right. I assumed Rosswood was his old home, since at the end of Entry...22? After the Disappearing Seth act, he says he's "going home". The next we hear of him, he's living in Rosswood, and from what I can tell he's pretty well settled.

I think it does make sense Alex has a connection to the place too, since we're getting more and more of a hint that Rosswood is the Slenderator's hangout/home base/favorite soul restaurant or what have you.

I've been thinking about that. I'd assumed the same as you - Alex said he was going home, so 'Rosswood Town' must be the place he grew up. Now we've found out that Tim definitely grew up in Rosswood Town, I'm not so sure if its Alex's hometown or not. Two reasons: 1, when Tim takes Alex to 'location scout' there's no indication that Alex is familiar with the area. 2, you'd expect that sort of thing to be something they knew already. I mean, when you're a student one of the stock questions you ask in getting to know someone is "where you from?" If Alex and Tim had grown up near each other, you'd expect they'd have found out about it.

So what did Alex mean by 'going home'?

Another thought - where is Jay from? We know his apartment was in what I shall call 'Collegtown'. Was he a collegetown native or did he move there? Perhaps someone could tweet Jay and ask him where he grew up. Might add some evidence either way for the 'everyone came from same place' theory that's floating round.

As I recall, Alex said, "I'm going back to my home," in Entry #22. At the time, there was some discussion about whether he was leaving the area to return to his home town, or simply leaving wherever he was (Brian's house?) to go back to his house. Obviously, if the latter is true, then he subsequently left the area anyway.

I think that Jay and Alex are both from Collegetown (love the name, by the way), which explains the fact that they went location scouting together way back in Entry #5; Tim is from Rosswood, as evidenced by his knowledge of the local area. The distance between the two towns is "far enough that we'll probably need to split gas money", according to Tim in Entry #55, but they're poor college students, so that isn't necessarily very far. It doesn't rule out the possibility that the Operator's interest in them extends back to childhood.

All these questions are making me confused. Smile

Someone who has a twitter-do this! I need to be less confused.

Perhaps Alex just meant his house, since he appeared to be in the Brian-ish house at the end of that video? But then he left, apparently finished college out of state, and next we hear he's in Rosswood.

Perhaps, even if he didn't grow up there, he was "called" there by Oppy?

On that note...

And Tim on ukelele. The Slenderator really digs the ukelele.

And this explains the suit. It's a jazz band-everyone has to be dressed nice.

Very Happy

Entry #59

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out but the light in the background isn't pulsing, it's the camera focousing. Note how when the light pulses the rest of the image does as well

Point to make is that this the town if the movie now. Rosswood is not the same area in canon if I understand correctly. Also, the hospital sounds like it's out of the way of the movie town. Closer to where Tim grew up rather than the movie town.

We call this Tharol possession. You may want to see a medium or priest, depending on your preference, to get that exorcised. Razz

For the rest of it, we aren't sure in game whether Rosswood and "movietown" are the same place or not. We're also not sure how far apart Rosswood is from collegetown. Since as mentioned the gas money split varies depending on the group. My group split gas during 45+ minute trips, but we were cheap as hell.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We know for a fact that at least the place where Jay and Alex damasked Tim and the hospital are within walking distance of each other. I'm not sure about the rest of Rosswood, maybe someone else can clarify

Um, actually. We do know that Rosswood and the movie town are far apart. The hospital is in Rosswood. As recently as entry 54, it has been mentioned that between where the MH student film was filmed, and where Tim and Jay are now, is a few hours away.

Jay specifically comments, in one of the early Season 2 entries that, on how Rosswood is so far away from where they were actually Filming Marble Hornets(the pretentious student film).

And at today's gas prices, who can afford to scout anywhere, am I right??

Hope I'm not being too OT

But watching # 59 again gave me a wild idea. What if the mention of blood in [Tim's] hair is a tie-in to # 29/ noentry. Those events do need to be explained as well as the transformation into Masky. I say this entry was mainly to lay down some exposition while putting Tim on a bus. I expect Alex to emerge soon (and Hoody to become important in the meantime.

I have a feeling that although Tim won't help Jay, Masky will.

Okay, so if Alex and Tim are both from Rosswood, and Alex wanted to get Tim into the burned out hospital, then all he had to do was mention that he was looking for an abandoned burned out building. Tim would lead him right there and show him around. So maybe Alex knew about the hospital all along. They talk about it in Entry #55 and I really like how Alex casually asks how far away it is. If Tim came back with a distance (or even a time) then Alex would have had a good idea whether Tim was talking about the same place or not.
