Quote:
Jay is fixated with Jessica because he is responsible for her going missing regardless of what Tim says. Alex didn't want her involved, Jay only pulled her into things because he felt alone in his problem and wanted someone to talk to about things so he didn't feel like life had become so unfamiliar.

That is a good point that I hadn't considered.

Quote:
Jay tried to quit all of this back in entry 23, but problems came back to find him.

I do recall, & you could also make the case that it eventually catches up with Alex & Tim, as well. But in that time, however short, their lives all improved.

It might be that trying to run away & hide again wouldn't work, but it seems to me like it would be enticing to try. Because it seemed to work better than trying to find answers, which almost got Jay shot.

Quote:
He isn't dumping his problems onto Tim, Tim is one of his problems. Tim broke into his house, and then led him to the operator (return). Tim followed him miles away from his home to the building from entry 34 (where alex used jay as bait to get him). Tim attacked him in his hotel room. If someone did any of those to me I'd consider them to be a problem.

Yes, but when Jay was following Tim, he expressed doubt that Tim was still masky. He voiced the possibility that Tim genuinely didn't remember anything, & was living a normal life. Yet he decided to follow him, lie to him, and generally be manipulative anyway.

His caution makes sense, but surely he realized that if this was true, then he was dragging Tim back into that mess. And I can't really blame Tim for being angry upon realizing that.

Quote:
I urge people to watch the series from Jay's point of view and not from their own, and you will really get a feel for his character.

Oh, I agree, from Jay's perspective, I can see where a lot of this makes sense. But, in that post, I was trying to see things from Tim's perspective. Because, corny as it is to say, I think they both made good points.

Quote:
Most people don't comprehend little details if they don't do this, such as that entry 40 is the first time Jay sees the operator and gets away and remembers the encounter. Him sitting on the ground shaking is so much more emotional once you realize that.

Agreed.

Sometimes, it seems that some parts of Entries are there specifically from a director's standpoint, that the audience needs to see this, and not thinking that Jay should actually reconsider including that little part in his edited Marble Hornets Entries.

I've often thought about this as well. I think it's usually fairly explicable. Jay appears to have some rudimentary film experience outside of the original Marble Hornets production, enough to be picked for it in the first place and still have editing software and know-how afterwards.

The long pans across creepy woods would make sense for someone who wants to check their footage afterward to see if someone was sneaking around they didn't notice at first, and make even more sense to be edited in to help put viewers in his frame of mind.

That said... logistical questions like that always do sorta bug me about Marble Hornets. The release schedule in particular is rather peculiar for a guy who, as far as we're aware, has no job outside this. I understand part of it is because he has to review footage in real time, but still...

Also, in the end he still ended up forgetting Entry 40, so...

Uh, when did he forget Entry #40? Was that mentioned on twitter or something?

I urge you rewatch the series sometime. A lot of your posts are asking questions about things that are flat out told to us.

He forgets everything that happened in the past 7 months at the start of season 2. entry 40 takes place within those 7 months.

I've watched the series several times and am fully aware of the 7 month gap. I was asking if there was something special about Entry #40 (eg uploading it and then forgetting what it contained) Apparently not.

Not sure if this has been said before, but entry 59 is missing from the MH feed tab.

Oh ya. I wonder why that is. It's not unlisted or private or anything, and it's still in the "Featured" and "Videos" tab. Probably Jay accidentally clicked the button to remove it from the feed. That's not that hard to do.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
By which I mean, probably Troy accidentally clicked the button to remove it from the feed. That's not that hard to do.
Or maybe YouTube glitched it. It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

You noticed it too? yeah it's still on this channel, when I logged on this morning I thought that it might have been taken down for IG reasons (like Tim hacking the account)

Or perhaps so MH Tim doesn't know that Jay uploaded another entry containing him regardless of what Tim told Jay.

In fairness, I didn't know what he was talking about either. With vague titles like "Entry #," it's kind of hard to keep straight what happens in which video.

The Operator is by far due for an appearance this season. He hasn't even shown up in present day!

Prediction -Jay goes to the maintenance tunnel after some pan-over shots of the woods, the hospital, the annex, and maybe some other stuff. He'll take out his maglite. Then: SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

Entry #59

Coming out of lurkerdom to say that Tim's last therapy session must have been memorable:
"Doc, I understand it all now. A faceless monster in a double-breasted suit has been stealing my memories! I wish you'd stop looking at me that way, Doc."
