Caretaker Chat 01/08/04

Due to caretaker (Frank Harker) having IRC problems, we ended up meeting in a Yahoo! chess room. Since you can't cut & paste from there (stupid Yahoo) , I transcribed the meeting from a series of screen shots I took.

I blame the Java. But you did a real good job Laz. Thanks, and sorry I missed it.

thanks LL for transcribing. here's a bit of chat i had with CT before he hit that chat room:

Quote:
grumpyboi: heard u'r having probs getting into gamebox
caretaker010101: indeed
grumpyboi: how was your trip to catalina?
caretaker010101: partially fruitful
caretaker010101: Starkey's residence was vacant both times I stopped
caretaker010101: but the trip to the desert yielded interesting information
grumpyboi: really? do tell
caretaker010101: You've heard of Groome Lake?
grumpyboi: i'm afraid i havent but will look it up
caretaker010101: They were in such a hurry to establish the perimeter around the site, they grabbed a bunch of surplus signage from there.
grumpyboi: ah, area 51
caretaker010101: yes
grumpyboi: so how was the construction site interesting, did you find more info that makes you believe us more?
caretaker010101: how long have they been excavating?
caretaker010101: they've already setup a cement plant onsite and are pouring foundations
grumpyboi: sounds like they're trying to build something in a hurry
caretaker010101: the underground portion of the main facility is big enough to fit any building in catalina with room left over to play baseball
grumpyboi: sounds like they may be trying to built the NRU research facilities which was there in the original timeline
grumpyboi: the 'time travel' research facilities
caretaker010101: that is possible
caretaker010101: but why the hurry?
grumpyboi: possible others in this timeline are also aware of the changes in the timeline?
caretaker010101: or someone else is ahead in construction
grumpyboi: like the russians
caretaker010101: i think we pretty successfully ended their research
caretaker010101: Turgenev destroyed most of the records before he defected.
grumpyboi: or maybe some other 'groups' in the US then
caretaker010101: that seems more likely
caretaker010101: not many organizations can command this level of activity on such short notice
grumpyboi: SPECTRUM?
caretaker010101: SPECTRUM was our old codename for the Russian Initiative
caretaker010101: can we continue this where others may participate?
grumpyboi: oops, getting mixed up, sorry
grumpyboi: OK, agree
