Abys' Obnoxius Puzzle Competition #2

Hey Guys,

Long time, no post...I thought you guys might be interested in this puzzle trail of sorts. Its from a KoLer (Kingdom of Loathing) as a time waster.

I suck at these types of things, I can't even get past puzzle 0, even though I solved for 1 part of a clue...that is as far as I've gotten.

Go Here for the puzzle trail

KoL Forum thread that gives explain/prizes for the first person to solve the thing

Interesting... I believe puzzle 0 has multiple paths to solve, because solving it took me to puzzle 5. I'm on puzzle 6 right now.

If you did what I did, you get the second half of the clue using the same code.

Anybody have luck with these? I've completed one of the three puzzles within Puzzle #0, but can't seem to figure out the others.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I figured out the binary one, but if you look at the source there are three total puzzles within one. I have no idea what 1+1=4x4 is supposed to mean.

So I read every post in that forum but still have no idea what to do with the first and last part of puzzle 0, and it's really REALLY frustrating.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After reading the hints I figured that the first part had something to do with putting cards to letters. The frustrating thing is that there are only 26 cards per suit, and there are 52 letters in the alphabet. I've tried multiple options:
Making the black cards be every other letter in the alphabet, and the red cards every other letter in the alphabet in order to account for all letters. Used this method where 2 = P for both suits (1+1=4*4). 1 = D (figuring the 1 and 4 might be used there). Flipped the suits for each scenario. Found the Aces and used the letter on each of those two cards the beginning of the alphabet. Used this method doing every other letter.

If someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I am about ready to rip my hair out especially considering how "easy" everyone was saying it was on the KoL forums.
