New guide/compendium Since the wiki is a little overwhelming to new players, and there's not really a stand-along webpage with game information out there, I made one.

Check it out and see what you think. Let me know what mistakes I made and what I forgot and all that sort of stuff!

Love it! Thanks for the organization.
Are you going to put in a section for the original stuff that started with L3? (as background information - there is some stuff in that mini-game to suggest that Jake actually went back in time during his hiatus from NRU).

I considered putting in the pre-game stuff, but since I didn't play it, I don't really have a feel for what was important. I decided not to put the old puzzles in since there are other places where they are categorized along with their solves. I'll probably put in the new puzzles as they arrive.
What, in the pre-game, suggested that Jake went back in time? I think I missed it.

I didn't play the pre-game, but I recall some hidden messages under the paint of some old paintings.

Thanks for the props.
I'm in the process of switching to a different server on my webhost, so there may be some interruptions in accessing the page. If you can't reach it via http://acheron.addlepated.net , I've got it mirrored at http://s89738709.onlinehome.us/ for now but the category links won't work. All the posts are still on the front page, though.

2 timelines, 2 guides? This has to be difficult for you since you have 2 timeline to deal with. How do you decide what works for the guide and what doesn't unless you just try it? I was also wondering if we (the players) are currently in timeline 2 then how do they (the storyteller) account for the fact that we are aware of the timeline differences?

I think the way the story will account for us "remembering " the old timeline is that the time shiift was incomplete. The fact we remember is a symptom of the problems with the time shift. That is what Caretaker suggested last night in his chat.
(Nash- I'm sorry you can't join us in IRC at all. You have good ideas. )

OR... THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL
Rose -
The story could account for us knowing the full "timeline" if we were the ones that jumped (along with jake, i.e. a bubble of time and space went with him) OR there is no second timeline, nad NRU faked its disappearance.
Anyone read the book "TIMELINE"? It sucked. It was about a superhero named Timeline, but he was fat and lazy and didn't do a thing for anyone except drink their beer and borrow money for the bus. What a letdown.
Anyhoo...So now we know Frank Harker is caretaker and he lives in Tuscon? Rose, did anything come of what we talked about yesterday, namely that Catalina, AZ contains Saguarro National Park just off of Rte 77, which branches into North Oracle Rd, and then Pinal Ave. Pinal being an alternate spelling for pineal, a gland in the brain associated with the third eye (supernatural powers) in Egyptian myth and circadian and sleep rhythms? Any reference to egytian myth in this game?
Also, for the record, there is an "Organ Pipe National Monument" near Rte 77 and Saguarro Park. Organ Pipe, like Piano Key, is another Dostoyevsky metaphor in Notes from the Underground. Also, Catalina, AZ has a lot of its streets named after things associated with boats and sailing, like Starboard Ave, Mainsail Drive, etc. Any boat stuff in this game?
Is this all just coincidence. If so, it would prove Dirk Gently's thesis of the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL
I meant that I have more info about conincidences vis-a-vis Catalina, AZ than I listed. I just wanted to know what everyone thought of what I listed so far.
THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL BUT DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL
No one has addressed my post above. Specifically, whether any of the other stuff in Catalina, AZ (the maritime references in the street names, etc) bear any relation to any past puzzles in this game?

Hey PB,
I think you are likely to find weird coincidences in just about any city's streets. That's not to mean the ones you've found should be discounted, but I guess it depends on how much energy you want to expend on it.
I haven't noticed any Egyptian references in this game, though I'll freely admit some may have slipped by. Mainly we have seen Norse mythology.
In any event, I'm glad you're stirring stuff up.
