I'm really curious, how do you want the series to end?

Jay calls out Tim on lying, and after a lengthy discussion Tim agrees to work with Jay. He introduces Jay to Hoody who is revealed to be Brian, and seth, who is revealed to be totheark. sarah revealed as skully but she's not part of the faction, she was just helping them out once. Tim reveals that after Alex "left town" they spent 2 years doing their own investigation where they figured out what the operator was and how the masks play into their survival. Instead of totheark videos we get clips of past footage that ties into stuff we never got answers to (the rest of entries 12 and 7, who filmed noentry, why the tunnel was so special) but does it in a way where seth/brian/tim reveal some secrets of the operator in these encounters. we even see jay help them in some of these entries, but towards the end of them we see jay trick alex into getting slendynapped, revealing jay to be the bad one at the time. they even reveal that alex helped them investigate jay at some point before he got taken and sacrificed them all. seth reveals "the ark" that he seeks is code for "Freedom from the operator for us all"

seth had all the footage from alex's tapes. since he was the only one on the cast who worked with film, he noticed these stalkings of alex before alex ever did (explains his footage from exit and advocate). its revealed they didn't want to help jay because of the past footage + it would have been better for jay to give up and have no leads and not keep getting himself involved. they believe jay to be innocent.

they find and tie up alex somehow and force him to be slendy bait to test some theories out on. they film from far away while slendy approaches alex ( who has some kind of gps device on him) and causes him to black out (the entry will show both perspectives) and they try to find out what happens when people are taken. it would be neat bc al of the characters would be figuring out new stuff present day

they track alex near a building in a trance state that he can't be woken from. (seth and jay are both filming at this time). seth and tim stay with alex. jay and brian go further into the building while seth calls brian and tells him that alex is having a seizure but they have it under control. eventually jay and brian find jessica in a room. she screams at them to leave her alone and they re veal they won't hurt her. she says she keeps waking up forgetting the past few days of her life and wakes up in this room every time it happens. jay and brian search the room but find no trace of evidence. the walls have writings on them that say stuff like "please help, what is going on" and other things people would write in that situation. jay and brian both claim to remember this room now that they're standing in it. Jay even finds some of his own writings on the wall. jay and brian her a gunshot and run outside to see tim standing over a dead alex. tim is shouting at them to get out of there and they do.

the next part of this really long entry shows footage from seth's camera. alex snaps out of his seizure. finally around a concious human while under the operator's influence, he looks at tim and says "he's linked to me now, if you kill me he will die too, you know this. i never had the guts to kill myself, find the guts to do it this time tim" and hesitantly tim does it.

the final entry is jay telling us about what happened in the text. shows footage of him hugging jessica as she heads into a trauma clinic, footage of tim and brian burning their masks and seth burning all of the tapes all in one fire. jay says a thank you to the viewers, and shuts the camera off.

as the credits roll, the opening scene from the actual marble hornets is shown. brian and tim nail the line and as the credits end, alex says "alright good take guys" and turns around to ask jay what he thinks, and we see one last shot of the operator standing directly behind jay, with jay going "what? .... what?" before it cuts

why did i take the time to write all that. it sounded really cool in my head except for the operator dying with the host thing, but i can't think of a non-cliffhanger ending that ends with the operator alive. i dunno, if i probably go back and reread it i'll want to throw up in my mouth but i just spewed thoughts that came to me.

inb4 the Operator causes lupus. Cool

Also, pravado, I think that would actually be a pretty cool ending. They either have to show us a decent way of getting rid of Oppy or end it on a "rocks fall everyone dies" note, and I don't think any of us wants everyone to die in this series. O_o

Except, you forget that Jay is the main character and the series is about him and his investigation(as derp as that investigation may be), not about Hoody or Masky or even Alex.

Hey, it might not be the perfect ending, but at least there's some good ideas in there & you're not being one of those "It HAS to end THIS WAY or it's ruined FOREVER" types.

Don't know if it's important, but the date on the second form was exactly ten years ago (as of yesterday). Significant?

At the moment no, but it might be in the future. Maybe ToTheArk will post a "THIS IS YOUR LAST HOSPITAL VISIT ....." video.

Dear God, pravado. That was some ending! Altough, I don't know why, but I find it highly improvable for Troseph to finish the series this way. Regardless, great entry... I mean, ending.

Thanks guys. I really am looking forward to their ending because I just can't comprehend an ending where everything is resolved but the operator is still alive

I can now rest in peace knowing that I wouldn't like that ending at all. XD I mean, there were some good ideas, but I think an ending like that would be so corny and, erm, messy. I don't know, it tries too hard to wrap up everybody's stories. And there need to be more unanswered questions. I hate it when series explain too much, it ruins everything.

And I will be seriously pissed if Jay discovers yet MORE tapes from 2006. I'd rather see them reuse a location than "discover" more tapes. Not to mention that it seems like the story is building in a certain direction (not sure how to explain it) and maybe it's just me, but I don't see an ending like that "following" that direction.

If the Operator dies, I will be sooo disappointed. That seems like such a boring and predictable way to end the series. TO has to live. (Wouldn't the series be a bigger success if it could keep it viewers paranoid after it was over?) It's just a question of how Trosephim would do it...

I'm quite fond of the idea that the operator is like a curse and that the only way to get rid of him is to get him to stalk someone else. In that case the ending would not be a pleasant one. Their struggle would be over, but someone else's would begin. If this is how it works then Jay, Tim and Alex could just leave Jessica alone and she would be chased by the operator until she found another victim for him.

This idea could work well with the current story: Tim gets followed from an early age, meets Alex, and stops being followed. Alex tries everything he can to get the operator to follow someone else, and succeeds in getting him to follow Jay for a while. After the seventh month gap the operator goes after Jessica, but maybe now he's found Tim again, so perhaps Jessica will turn up again, or fade into obscurity.

I would like some of my questions answered by the end (who is TTA, what do they want, how Masky came to be, what the first Operator encounter ever involved, etc.) but answering everything would take a lot of infodumping that would probably jolt me out of the story.

I also don't really want to see the Operator defeated. Maybe "sent back where he came from" or whatever, but not killed. Loads of good horror stories end with the "And he roams the woods to this day, looking for film students to stalk..." trope. As long as they don't invoke the "The End... Or Is It?" we're good. (I think the X-Files kinda burned me out on that one.)
