This, exactly! My phobia used to be so severe that I hardly slept at night! I would catch a few winks at dawn's first light and trundle off to middle/high school an hour or so later. Several years later and I've also grown out of it (now, ironically enough, I am a huge horror buff). I've mostly inured myself to frightening things, but Slenderman most definitely brings back that sense of dread (and occasionally outright panic) that I used to feel at night back during the worst of my nyctophobia.

It has inspired me to be more creative again and to want to create something- especially the MH guys who just wanted something to do during a particularly boring summer (which I just now happen to be experiencing).
