I thought I heard Jay mutter "Shit, shit" as he got out of the tunnel in 60.

I don't think they really need to rely on the Operator so much in season 3. I feel that they have moved beyond that. The story is now focusing on finding out what happened to the cast of MH. The Operator will no doubt make more appearances, but it shouldn't be the main focus. That would kill the story they've built so far. Unfortunately, everyone still seems to be up in arms about there not being as much action. We've had quite a bit more exposition. To be honest, we've needed the exposition in order to move the plot forward and explain to the viewers what the hell is going on. Remember, this is technically a movie in serial format. You have to keep the viewer up to speed or they are going to get totally lost.

I recently showed someone all the Marble Hornets entries they hadn't seen, which was basically just all of season 3 so far. I also recently calculated that so far this season the entries have come out an average of 13.875 days apart (Yes I did calculate this). That's essentially one entry every two weeks. We all keep saying that the plot's moving really slowly, but I think that's because of the wait.

Basically what I'm saying is I think once we watch the whole season at once once it' over, we'll like it a lot more, assuming you're also going to do that. I mean, I sure as hell am. Actually this is the last season so I'll probably marathon the whole series. We should have a synctube actually.

Okay I'm obviously getting ahead of myself. TL;DR: I think this season's plot will seem more interesting once all the entries are out and we don't have to wait anymore.

A criticism I have is that, recently, there haven't been many big surprises.
Nothing has really shocked me.

I really think that what they need to do is have something unexpected happen.
Something that Jay doesn't go and search out.

I imagine something happening that causes Jay to barely have enough time to grab a camera as he runs for his life for whatever reason.
But this just seems like wishful thinking.

Yeah. I marathoned up to entry 45 the first night I watched Marble Hornets. I didn't even know what entry was the cut off for season one until I was reading the wiki. Seen together like that, the story flows much better and the pacing is perfect. So, I agree. It's just the wait between entries that makes it seem like things are moving so slowly. Things have actually progressed much faster than I thought they would at the beginning of the season.

I marathon'd the first 2 seasons on my first time through, to be honest, I don't really see it. If anything, I think the pacing is better now.

I'm indifferent to the Hoodie thing, but I want to point out that the cause & effect might be backwards. It's possible that they wrote the scene so that Hoody would have to make an appearance, because otherwise, the character would have just stayed hidden, working in the background.

I know I am alone in this, but:
Tim's acting annoys the hell out of me.

I feel mean for saying this since he can't help it, but he always seems annoyed when he shouldn't be. When he wants to show Alex the abandoned hospital, he sounds annoyed. When Jay is interviewing him back in Season 1, he sounds annoyed. I don't get it. Is he supposed to sound like that?

In my opinion, Troy is a much better actor and heck, so is Joseph. The part where Jay yelled "Then what is it that you want?!" in Entry 59 had me sold on his acting.

Feel free to tell me your thoughts on this, because after all, this is a forum.

I personally think Tim is the best actor in the series (male, at least). Troy is getting better, but his "i was going to tell you tonight tim" made me go "ughhhh." I don't get where you're hearing the angriness in Tim's voice, I just don't hear it.

None of them are really bad actors. Whenever I think Joseph is kind of drone-like when playing Alex, part of me feels like that's what Alex is supposed to be like

Tim is supposed to sound annoyed at those times. With Alex because he was showing Alex that building after Alex had already gone into paranoid asshole mode, with Jay because Jay kept waving a camera in his face and asking him about events that he barely remembers/wanted to forget.

Though I think they're all great at what they do, all of their performances sound like real conversations to me, which is exactly how they should sound for a project like this.

I think they're pretty good actors for one major reason. Based on how I've seen them act outside of Marble Hornets, they're pretty much exact opposites of their characters.

Yeah, definitely. I like all the guys, but Alex tends to be the weakest acting-wise for me. I try to tell myself that his robotic monotone is intentional; that helps it for me, especially when watching entry 38 (which I find to be most painful with the monotone).

But, typically, I think the acting for all of them is fine (especially Tim - I find him to be the strongest of the three).

I'm kind of surprised on the s2 commentary they didn't point out hoody in entry 42. That was a huge discovery for me. I wonder if they didn't do it to try and keep it a nice easter egg.

The longer the series goes on, the less I care about the gaps between entries and the need to explain them. LIke in reality entry 60.5 should have been out already but the fact that it isn't doesn't make it seem unrealistic or anything. To many people they need the IG explanation whereas we all know it's due to OOG stuff. I don't think they should have to explain the gaps anymore.

This last part is a criticism to unforum. Don't get mad that they are taking long to make an entry. They have plenty of other things to do and it's not like they're saying "fuck this dumb forum yelling at us to release the video, now we're going to stall for a few days to make them suffer" - when it's done it's done

Jay could just be having an ethical crisis at the thought of disclosing Tim's private medical history with us. Or he's just afraid that Tim'll hit him again.
