Well, in Troy's youtube videos there's always a 'special thanks to bradley', so i assume this bradley guy helps out with their videos. Maybe it's him in a suit, stilts and mask?

As has been said, I think it's a mixture of both. Season 2 was clearly not a person for most of it, though. A good chunk of this season, too. When he doesn't move at all, and just quickly distorts in or out it's almost certainly a prop. That approach almost always makes The Slender Man look lifeless, in my opinion. You can just sort of tell.

You can tell in some entries it's a prop, too, because of the season 2 commentary. In the commentary for 51 they basically admit that to make him move they had to use essentially stop motion animation, and in trying to do the shot it looked bad and you could see the light changing because it took too long.

Conversely, in some earlier entries, like Entry 1 with the quick head snap and arm movement, or the dreaded walking of Entry 14, the movement has a natural feeling to it.
