See what did I tell you, Reggie is coming to us. Time to e-mail Caretaker he is on his way.

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL

How do you conclude that "Reggie is coming to us"? We don't even know where he's going, or where he's going to crash or anything. And why would caretaker care?

Am I missing something?

THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL AND I'M PRETTY SURE I'M NOT MISSING ANYTHING.

My pet hypothesis: Somehow events in this timeline were delayed a couple of years. With the exception of Jake knowing Reggie (in the other line they just played Chess on Yahoo together, then again maybe Jake didn't know it was his room mate), and Jake not working with the Professor. We never did learn why Caretaker became involved in the first timeline, perhaps he was set to "guard" Reggie when he went a bit crazy on the drugs, or Reggie contacted him.

Your NRU badge? An Invite to tour the new Fock Center?

I seem to be missing a few aggies and a cat's eye. If you find them, leave them in the place I left that thing the one time.

Reggie

Reggie was the prime architect on the NRU software. Now that NRU is being swiftly constructed they need him on an emergency basis to get their security software in place. It is the only thing that makes sense in terms of the story.

Caretaker cares about John because he knows how pivotal he was in the last time line, if only from reading our logs.

Re: Reggie

"two places to crash"? On campus and off? In Catalina and in a secret underground bunker? I don't know whether this has any significance or not. (Not that I've been reduced to looking for plot points where there clearly aren't any. Or anything.)

Or his current apartment and the one where he is going

I can't remember anyone talking about this before, so here it goes.

Have we ever talked about the <a name="xxxxxxxxxx"> links and the times of the entries in http://hexeditor.blogspot.com? In both time lines he uses the same numbers and times:

href="/index.html#107419770355820314">12:15 PM</a>
href="/index.html#107412739463911559">4:43 PM</a>
href="/index.html#107397603758022640">10:40 PM</a>
href="/index.html#107354249142199079">10:14 PM</a>
href="/index.html#107339868197485093">6:18 AM</a>
href="/index.html#106394257352812545">8:36 PM</a>
href="/index.html#106351302228282219">9:17 PM</a>
href="/index.html#106334644684541822">11:00 PM</a>
href="/index.html#94652070">2:26 PM</a>
href="/index.html#94469230">1:46 PM</a>
href="/index.html#93060947">11:33 AM</a>
href="/index.html#91097148">6:22 PM</a>
href="/index.html#90548029">2:38 PM</a>

The numbers he's using just seems strange to me. Are they created by some software, or did he pick these numbers and times to tell us something?

From the bottom up there are 5 lines with 8 digit numbers. Then there are 8 lines with 18 digit numbers.

Yes. Here. They're automatically created by the Blogger code.

That is what the other thread suggested, but I am no longer sure. The text of the blog in this time line is all new, but the tags and the times are the same as the privious time line. Wouldn't replacing the entires also replace the tags and times?

Not if they went in and edited the already existing entries.

I looked at those for a while, and they appear to be auto generated by the blog code. There may be a way to manualy set them (I'm pretty sure there is, but I don't know how strong their code checking is), but I would guess that they are the ones granted to them randomly.

I created a blog at blogger.com, and the tags it created were all 18 characters long, so I assume you are right. Not sure about the 8 character tags in Reggie's blog. Maybe when his blog was first created, blogger used 8 character tags, and then at some point blogger changed to 18 character tags.

Yes, I can verify this. I used Blogger until last July, and my permalink ID #s are like this:

78839548
78804681
78744496
78743103
78715379
...etc.

Looks like Blogger changed their code sometime last fall.
