I can't believe so many people are up in arms about what excuse they're going to use. When you watch the entries as one, or watch them on DVD, no one is going to give a shit about what excuse they use. I honestly think it's just going to be like "Sorry for not updating, I wanted to change my location a few times to make sure I wasn't being followed" but part of me actually hopes they just black Jay out again to spite everyone who is complaining about lack of an original IG excuse for a free web series that sometimes has entries that aren't released "on time."

Tim also realized that Jay had no problem at all with using him as a dowsing rod to find Totheark and/or Alex. Don't get me wrong: Jay is a nice kid, and a brave kid, and I'm rooting for him. But he became so obsessed with finding answers to his mystery that he didn't even consider the probable consequences for Tim of revisiting that site of supernatural wrongness. And the lies he told, for all that Stevie Wonder could have seen through them, didn't allow Tim to give informed consent to the venture. That punch in the face in #59 was a necissary wake-up call for Jay.

No. I'm sorry but no. Any other entry yeah I'd agree with you, time between entries would be irrelevant. But this time they gave a sense of urgency, Tim was in apparently immediate danger, They were even "live" updating the twitter with tidbits, making this seem like a thought-out two part entry. They deserve a bit of flack for hyping it up and then completely stonewalling us.

Here's my reasons for wanting a good IG explanation for the wait. No, it's not an ARG, and they aren't on a specific time table, and going back and watching them in a row will be a different story. However, right now, this is supposed to be happening in "real time". Meaning, as jimi060 pointed out, if Jay ran off to do something very urgent and dangerous, we the IG viewers want to know what happened to him. Is he hurt? Is he in danger? If he hasn't responded at all yet, then that makes us think something horrible has happened. I don't think a decent, logical explanation for Jay's long wait to update is too much to ask. And I think they could pull it off well if they tried. Honestly, a "I needed to change locations" excuse wouldn't bother me that much, but I would prefer there to be something more exciting going on than Jay continuing his hotel documentary. XD

At this point, you guys should just be posting in the rage thread. This is getting very angry, very quickly.

That is to be expected when the point is missed so horribly. We all know damn well that there's a difference between following something while it's releasing serial installments, & coming to it after it's over. Just because someone who comes to Futurama now missed out on its "cancellation," it doesn't make that any less annoying for the person who followed the show during that time.

Futurama was cancelled for years. That's a major false equivalency (though perhaps that wasn't your intention). Regardless, these guys are giving us free entertainment, with major costs to their own schedules and wallets. Who cares what the "in-game excuse" for the gap is? We'll forget all about it when the next entry comes out. Two weeks is not a long time for an update. And the boys bust their asses to make this stuff worth the wait.

Strictly speaking, no, but it doesn't actually matter, because the length of the wait isn't the point. The point was to show why "it won't matter once it's all over" is fallacious.

Anyway, free entertainment is still entertainment, & no one is sending death threats. I think it would be easier on everyone if we just agreed that having conflicting opinionz on the issue is perfectly acceptable.

I think, from a writing standpoint, if they don't come up with a reasonable in game reason for why this entry took so long then it will be bad. It might have been more exciting to have the entry out right away which was there intention but it won't necessarily botch the story if they release it later. It's more of a missed opportunity then anything, however, they wanted to rewrite it and that probably means they fixed things so they do have a focus on quality.

I honestly hope they don't include one. The videos have filler entries to build suspense when you marathon them. As long as they intended on posting the video last week it doesn't matter because it all could have happened in an IG week. I would rater have a quality entry with a long wait then shitty entries every week.

Well, where the hell is Jay? He hasn't updated us in almost two weeks-- what could he possibly be doing? I mean, it's not like he's camped out in the woods stalking out Tim or looking for Tim's remains-- is he?

I think Magyk might end up being correct with Jay just saying he was moving around. As for OOG, apparently they started filming Saturday night from the sounds of it, so who knows how much longer it'll be.

Slightly off-topic but without making a new thread: I was rewatching some entries and in Entry 7, I never noticed TO chilling in the background when Brian sits back because I was always watching Brian. Anyone know why there isn't any video or audio distortion whatsoever until Alex starts up the car? He was able to film TO perfectly and nothing happened...

I think it'd be hilarious if Jay one day tweeted, "You know what, I'm gonna start asking you guys for a play-by-play of what you've done for the last few weeks, how does that sound?"

Well, at this point in Alex's encounters with the Operator, it seems there was less distortion in general. Some speculate that this means that the distortion is a voluntary effect put forth by Slendy. The only effect that seems prevalent during this time is screen tearing, which is thought to signal the Operator teleporting. So maybe he just didn't teleport in during that Entry.
