23 will always be terrifying to me, as it is the very first one I ever saw, and I saw it new *Hipster Shades*

18 in the house. THAT TACKLE

The entirety of Alex's entries from S2. Everything in that season was nothing until that point. Except for Masky In A Hotel of course.

The recent entries have been pretty unnerving as well. The last one was cool, and I'm not talking about the seizure, but the overall tension of OMG HE IS IN HIS ROOM WHAT WILL HAPPEN?!?!?

enttry 37 is the worst for me. I can't take the sound distortion.

Entry 26 is another one. Also, Entry 33 and 52.

I think one of the scariest for me is entry 40-something where Jay breaks into Alex's house and gets caught.

"It's not out there anymore."

That was the first time I've been scared by MH in a long time. Most of the other entries are just "awesome" now rather than "scary".

The first time I watched #18, my computer crashed the second Masky appeared onscreen. So that actually horrified me.

#23 is scary too just because of how "what the fuck" it was at the time. It was the first time that Slendy's ability to mess with time and space was really established.

#60 is also great. It's pretty terrifying for two reasons: the concept of being trapped in a dark tunnel with Slenderman, and the fact that they actually made him move for the first time in forever.

I sort of miss being scared by Marble Hornets. Now I watch it more for the character development than the horror sdgsdf

Gonna give a little love to one that everyone seems to overlook. #24, the one where Jay is being a shut-in in his terribly messy apartment and disappears through one side of the door and fails to come out the other side, is unsettling on a really fabulously deep level.

The atmosphere, that weird almost-inaudible music, the "wait, did that really just--", the weird surveillance-style footage on the TV that we never did figure out... moreover, though, the way it's cut and framed and presented really drives home that Jay's life has just completely fallen apart. I think that's really the first time we see just how our terribly taciturn protagonist has been living and what he's been living with, and it's the kind of understated existential terror that's really hard to pull off.

Awwww. Man. I'm getting all nostalgic for the days when I used to lay awake in bed and be scared of Marble Hornets.

I came here to post this exactly. The music, combined with the weird survillance televisions combined the two faces that seem to pop up on them, especially the one that pops up when Jay walks through the door, all make this disturbing and incredibly haunting in contrast to the suspense and pop up sudden horrors that fill the series.

I'll be honest, I'm not that huge of a fan of horror/suspense media. Marble Hornets holds a special place in my heart, but I've only watched each episode once, with a few here and there twice. I don't recall numbers off the top of my head, and I'm feeling too headachy to search the wiki for the right episode numbers.
However, I can easily say that the last episode in the hotel, when Masky punk rushed Jay, was scarring for me. I have this thing about open doorways I can't see into. For some reason, since I was a small child, I've always imagined evil things rounding the corners and attacking me. So, when I saw how the camera was set up, I was immediately paralyzed with fear. After that entry, every time I'm alone and I see a doorway, I almost hallucinate a hand slowly creeping around the frame, followed promptly by me getting owned by a dude in a mask (I say hallucinate because adrenaline legitimately starts pumping. The reaction is much stronger than just imagining it).
Due to the same reasons, the video from Tim's camera when they were having an acoustic jam session in the dark was horrifying to me. Just seeing The Operator rush through the open door made me throw down my headphones and tense every muscle. I swear, I stopped breathing for a few seconds.
I really should rewatch the entire series, though. When things got too much for me, I just took off my headphones and kept watching. It helped me through the first time, but I apparently missed a lot about The Operator, such as his voice-copying abilities.

I find #19 scariest by a long shot. I still remember the first time: Hey...what is...is that some kind of face in the windoAAAHHH HE'S IN THE ROOM HE'S IN THE ROOM HE'S IN THE ROOM!!!!!! *shudder*

It's the only one I still hesitate to re-watch.

Faces?

When you see Jay sitting at his computer, look at the tv monitor that is next to him. You will see what looks like a face pop up. He then, for some reason after seeing it, goes to bed. Then when he walks out of the room, another face pops on the screen, and it almost looks like slenderman's blank face.

When season 2 was finished and I had caught up with the series, I went back and rewatched most of season 1. That was the one entry I missed. I was awestruck the entire time.

Suddenly found them sitting on the couch when you have just gone through, she was wearing a mask, and then they suddenly charge you a fee. [edit - spam links removed - kona]

Kind of subtle, but now that I think of it-- I think Entry 6 is the most frightening. It's short and to the point. Alex is in his house with all the lights turned off, trying not to be seen by the evil that's outside and the tall man passes by the window, looking in like a looming angel of death...

Ugh... that's the one I think of whenever MH actually creeps me out just by popping into my head.

That one entry in which he stumbles into Alex's room and then Alex has a bloodied head, #14 I think... Yeah that one ruined the Operator for me. I just imagine him making a "nwhuuuuuh" sound as he opens the door.

Yeah I always thought that one was dumb. The lack of camera distortion and the Operator's extremely human movements made it seem like it was just a guy in a costume.

You're crazy. That was one of the most memorable entries.

Seeing him slowly enter through the doorway, having to duck his head was just all kinds of creepy.
