I also assume that Virgil is Toby. On her blog she wrote "Maybe he's still tired. He is just glaring…totally pissed." So i thought tired of the trip....

That was my conclusion as well.

Hey all. I am fairly new to this site and previously only watched ARGs. Thought I'd contribute one little piece of info. This may not even be relevant but I follow games pretty closely and the new CoD: Black Ops II deals with the PRC and rare Earth metals. Even bringing this up I realize it is probably not related but thought I'd throw it in anyway just in case if they are "involved" in any way, which is possible seeing as they created a small ARG for Black Ops. Thanks all.

Well each of the first two blog posts have 416 letters which would fit perfectly in a 26 x 16 grid. So I wonder if the missing row 20 is a mistake. I've put the letters in the grid with and without row 20 and nothing has jumped out at me...but it's still early. I'll keep looking at it.

Could taking out all of the T's from the blog posts do anything? Since the 20th row is missing and the letter T is the 20th letter (as someone else mentioned previously).

Copy the blog posts in the grid and remove the 20th row of each. Then see which letters are in the same spaces in each grid and maybe those make a new clue? I am going to try this when I get home from work, if anyone is able to before that let me know of it gives anything.

I thought that was a neat idea, so here's my attempt at overlaying the post-grids and highlighting the common letter. I left in the 20th lines, because removing both 20th lines won't affect which letters line up. I probably missed some overlap, but I don't see any pattern in the remaining letters, which by my count are "eloaalweross."

FWIW, I've also tried pouring the posts into the grid differently-- i.e., filling the columns down first rather than across-- with no luck. Obviously, for the purposes of this trick it wouldn't make a difference--the same letters will line up either way--but I've looked for acrostics, etc., too. Also, it occurred to me that if lining up the letters was the trick, there's no reason the grid needs to be any particular size/shape. In fact, there's no reason to use a grid at all in that case.

Well, I guess they took the nudge request to heart - tweet: "The message is in my first two blog posts. See how they look when you use the table letter for letter."

I'm another lurker, and I have not seen all of the related documents for this trail. Going just by this clue, I assumed it to mean you are to take each blog post and make substitutions, letter for letter, from a specific table. It's either the table of atomic elements (based on other clues), or whatever table you have discussed with a missing 20th row. It is this latter table or grid which I don't see posted anywhere, so I'm not going to be of much help.

The thing that gets to me the most is why is it missing line 20? I doubt it is an error in the picture and it has some significance, but what exactly? Should we only focus on line 20 from each blog post? Maybe there is a code in those 32 letters?

"U p d a t e p e r w e e k a s w a b l e o n t h e I T u n e s s"

And thank you Jessie1326 for checking out the theory.

Yeah, I'd tried the same thing, overlapping the two text grids, but the similar letters spell nothing intelligible, and a great many are vowels.

catherwood, welcome to the thread Smile
The "T" thing is just that there's an extra 't' in the filename of the MP3 linked here.
I have this suspicion eating at me that there's a message in that post as well, but haven't found anything that indicates more than face value (image/mp3/blog text).

The active puzzle(s) I think at the forefront, is this 25/26x16 number grid and book(?) cipher sequence, and the tip from @FelicityVelius that there's a message in those two blog entries (June 5, June 28)

I've got the unsolved puzzles listed at
http://felicity.wikibruce.com/Puzzles#Unsolved

(still slowly populating all the empty pages =P)

I've added http://felicity.wikibruce.com/Documents to organize files we've recovered, following the instructions to make stuff public Razz

I really hope, if the Organization is bigger than wikileaks, that my sites don't get shut down by the likes of Anonymous! Foily!

At this point I'm reminded of that old quote:

Well, there is supposed to be an update soon. Hopefully the story can continue even though we don't have most of the puzzles solved. We will see.

Anyone notice that there is an "s" missing from "illustration" in this line?

"I'm currently working on an anthology tying all the stories and illustration into one single piece."

And there is an extra "L" in "handfull" in the other post?

"Hello again! Virgil has been a handfull today."

I'm assuming, of course, there will be more than one illustration in this anthology and that illustration was meant to be plural.

T = 20
S = 19
L = 12

Also, why are all the posts out of chronological order on the blog?

I've just caught up (mostly) and I noticed that the instructions with the pen said "Search Jul 27 find Aug" I don't know if this has been addressed yet but July 27th was the date of the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony. The closing Ceremony was on the 12 of August. Probably nothing but you never know. Also am I the only one who is reminded of a railfence cipher by the table? Has anyone else played around with this method?

EDIT: I believe it was also the date of the first Bugs Bunny appearance in 1940. Another well known rabbit?

Will the rail fence cipher still work with all of the rows being the same length? Do you think there is a hidden message in the blog posts surrounded by extraneous letters?

Aren't they all supposed to be the same length. Perhaps I've got my ciphers wrong. Anyway I tried what I thought a railfence was in several combinations but realised that its unlikely that there's going to be anything. I'm gonna keep digging but I'm not ridiculously experienced at cryptography.
