WELCOME TO BONVILLE -- Population: 10

In June of 2004, a group of film students and actors from Toronto camp out on the property of one of this town's only residents. With uncooperative actors, technical problems, and of course swarms of mosquitos, the project they went there to film quickly goes downhill. Brandon, the camera man, starts noticing strange things on the tapes, and people start acting weird. Could the people of Bonville have something to hide?

After months and months of hard work, my 94-minute movie about Slender Man is finally finished and available on DVD. I started working on this movie back in March with my filmmaking partner James Hardiment, both of us trying to incorporate the things people like most about Slender Man into a movie while still doing something new with the concept. I think you'll all enjoy it.

If you buy the DVD, you'll get the full 94-minute movie in higher quality, a half-hour "making-of" featurette, and some extended scenes. It comes in a standard amaray case with cover art and labels, as you would expect. The DVD is $19.99 from Amazon or CreateSpace. Unforum users who order from CreateSpace can get 15% off with the discount code of RW98K99N. This discount is not available on Amazon.

Reading does this mean I am the first review there.

Think film Windigo should remember this is term for werewolf or shaggy large big monster. Plus COA would like bring up the like first appearance here of Wolverine guess Hulk was lucky there. Have to point Lovecraft made some work on the 1910 first creature books. The creature also had powers to move like wind so fast nobody could see the real thing. How the great spirit could be showning up could be interesting filming.

The camera work looked good let us give them credit. Hello annoying director, good looking women, and young people. Do those people know like couple other people making documentaries in there.

This sounds suspiciously similar to Marble Hornets.

Just change a few words and...

Quote:
In June of 2006, a group of film students and actors from Alabama decide to make a college film. With uncooperative actors, technical problems, and of course swarms of mosquitos, the project they went there to film quickly goes downhill. Years later, Jay, the camera man, starts noticing strange things on the tapes, and people start acting weird. Could the film students have something to hide?

The plot sounds identical, besides the fact that the mystery comes from the town, not the film students themselves, and that the whole film seems to take place during the filming and not 3 years later. They even have the same month noted, June. I hope this isn't the equivalent to an Asylum remake of Marble Hornets. Hopefully they can distance themselves from them and come up with something original and fresh, like a unique take on Slender Man or clever plot twists that would really give it some creative merit. If I hear that it's actually worth the watch, I'll be more than willing to give it a gander.

The plot is actually not very much like Marble Hornets at all. Hopefully people will confirm that for me when/if they buy it.

If it helps, there are other videos on our YouTube channel. They aren't related to Slender Man obviously but they could give you an idea of what kind of work we do.

Well, since we're an unknown company and no one really knows what to expect from us, the director and I have decided that we're going to post the movie online for free on our YouTube channel. I'll post the link here when it's finished uploading.

The DVD is remaining for sale of course, so you can buy that afterwards if you want a nicer quality copy and bonus features.

For background, maybe I should emphasize that I'm not some random dude trying to make a quick buck by ripping off Marble Hornets. I legitimately put tons of time and money into making this movie because I'm a big Slender Man fan and wanted to make a movie that could introduce people to the mythos. I'm trying to sell a DVD because I don't have a lot of money and many people who I showed the movie to told me that it was by far my best work and would be worth a DVD. I thought maybe people who were already familiar with the mythos would be as excited to see it as the people who weren't (many of whom did buy the DVD already, when it was first available yesterday afternoon). Obviously I didn't take into account the fact that I'm not a very active poster on this forum and that the DVD does cost enough with S&H included. So I jumped the gun a bit on that. Sorry.

tl;dr - Once I upload the movie, give it a chance. I think it'll surprise you. And you won't have anything to lose when it's on YouTube. If you do enjoy it, please buy a DVD and support independent filmmakers. We're not rich by any stretch of the imagination.

Tharol makes a good point in his own special way. The Wendigo is a hairy monster from various Native American lore that has more in common with the Yeti than with Slenderman. Which makes this a strange title, but I'll take a look at it anyway when I get the chance.

[edit] Ah, I see - it's sort of an inbetween, with the "Windigo" being the legend and Slenderman being the actual monster mistaken for the legend.

I love Native American folklore, and am interested to see how you handle it here. From the tralier I can tell it's not grade A acting, but this is Slenderman, I'm not here to see acting..

I'm hoping this is good. It actually seems very Blair witch esque, and I've always wanted to see a Slenderman story in the style of BWP. I'll watch once it's uploaded. If it's really good I'll buy the dvd. Wink

Watch it on YouTube:

The quality has been reduced a lot in order for it to fit on YouTube. The movie is actually shot in 1080p. You can get a higher-quality SD version on the DVD. And hopefully one day I'll have an opportunity to release it in HD. For now, this is the best copy I can get online.
