Btw, Victor Surge's Slendy included many different possible backstories. The German one was one of the originals too. Dark Harvest and Tribe Twelve aren't saying without a doubt that Slendy is German or Egyptian. They're explaining how each culture has come to account for Slendy as a plot device...

Either way, what I meant was that the series is meta. The characters are doing a report on the meme slenderman, not the monster.
