 		As much as my head hurts, I'm trying to give the audio a closer listen to see if anything comes up, or stands out.

Alice is going nutso with warnings and protocols. I don't have Audacity installed so I can't pull out the background noise and whatnot, but perhaps there's something in her protocols that hints at something.

Sounds like they exited slipspace too early. No navigational data available. The ship is going through all kinds of turmoil - jettison warning before Ethan (it is Ethan, right?) screams.

Protocol 19 - something about landing. Entering atmosphere in 45-seconds, even though Ethan can only see stars and nothing else. No planet, nothing.

15-seconds from encountering a Class IV planet, but the only thing I could really find was this: Class IV Alkali Metals

That's about all I got for now. And back to my papers..

Carbon monoxide? As in the stuff the Earth's upper atmosphere would be filled with by 2276?

Could be - we did have that watercolor poster in the drops that just looked like smoke stacks. It's a rough tie-in, but you could be right. Doesn't explain why Ethan couldn't see anything.

I call InvisiPlanet. Naming it now.


EDIT: Just kicking some dirt around, but I was reading through the NYC drop again, seeing if anything made a connection. Nothing solid, really, just speculation.

The Interstellar Anomaly that the crew came upon seems to have caused similar problems with ALICE and the ship's instruments, just like Ethan's vessel was having. Now, the physicist on board identified that the energy that was "pulsating" around the planet wasn't an atmosphere, that it was something different - but what, they don't know.

Could, perhaps, that planet, or anomaly, or whatever, possibly be what Ethan's stumbled upon? He says he sees nothing there, but it could always be some kind of energy that can cloak large mass objects - planet, in this case.

Was perusing the wiki on Class IV planets when they did classify them as "hot Jupiters" - correlation, maybe. I dunno. My brain is in meltdown mode right now.

ALICE: Trudiary(?) radar and gravity sensors indicate that we are approximately 15 seconds from encountering a Class 4 planet.

 		Yeah, I was just looking through the NYC drop too. So, what we have is this recording, along with a bunch of memos from Liz that Sparrow is going mental because Ethan ship seems to have... gone missing? This seems to be the same anomaly that the mining vessels ran into a few years before but they got out in time according to the written flight logs. That ship was sent out to investigate a huge haul of dark matter, a black hole would (as far as I remember) have a lot of dark matter, which could explain where Ethan's ship disappeared to.

And the big metallic thing that they found at the bottom of the ocean in 2115 has something to do with it, but I haven't a clue what.

It was awesome. Very cool, very creepy. We get another one next week, same time.

Hope you're feeling alright! Hope you don't end up waiting a million years for your CT scan like most people that go to the ER at this time of night.

EDIT: Anyone else see that post by Achilles something-or-other that WAS here, and then just kinda vanished?

Anyways, he had mentioned that all this talk of Class IV planets, hot Jupiters and the like, that he'd found a planet called 51 Pegasi b which was a prototype hot jupiter that could have some connection to everything - it's mentioned twice in the first two sections of the Timeline. I'm guessing it's nothing really connected, but still something of note.
