Interesting, though, the decimal numbers. They're always the next step in the number sequence. 4.5, 7.8. Could mean words 4 and 5? 7 and 8?

EDIT: Yea, pretty sure that's what that means. Looking for the words now.

Well, here's what I got, going by the fact that 4.5 would mean words 4 and 5, which should be right, since it's a slight variation of the Arnold Cipher:

I guess that whole thing with the Union being other planets was spot on. So, what, we're dealing with some kind of other life? Or something from the future, maybe? Considering a lot of the dates on the cans and the coupon were set for way into the future, like the coupon expiring in the year 2277.

 		Going through the website, there was a mention of Oceanus..which naturally I put good old google to work.

 		Well, I just got home over an hour ago, and also found the enormous package on my porch...

I tweeted the unboxing @Wikibruce, thinking, yay! new arg announcement live tweeted!
Of course, today was a day I only popped in a couple of times to check for new threads in N&R, and the last time before this thread was started. d'oh Razz

Alas, I completed the live-tweet and then came here to get caught up.

Interesting that your book is red and mine, black. Did you get the same message following the Arnold Cipher?

 		Sweet! This is gonna be my first trailhead/as close to a trailhead as I'll ever get Very Happy

I tried http://koatoamarine.com/untied just in case, and there's nothing there. Gonna send an e-mail to info and then try to find Hale's e-mail.

ETA: sent an e-mail to akamuhaleSPLATkoatoamarine.com about 30m ago and it still hasn't bounced back... hopefully I'm not jumping the gun here!

 		The name Akamu means of the earth in Hawaiian, which could be classed as being in Oceania, and might be relevant if there are aliens involved.

"yimu" is also a nigerian insulting gesture like thumbing your nose, and akamu is a sort of nigerian custardy thing for breakfast. Could be a coincidence though.
