There's always the tried and true Hensley method:

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, since he hasn't hinted at doing CGI.

Also, no, I do not see how bad that looks. I guess Obi Wan could have taken a defensive stance & staggered back or something, but there is such a thing as overacting.

Question of taste, I guess. He could've at least flinched at the big thing waving glowsticks around in his face - even if he doesn't attempt to act, some basic human reflexes would kick in if you did that to someone - but my more general point was that ideally the actor should know what's going on in front of them. It takes a really good actor to look surprised or startled convincingly when they're looking at empty space, or a plank with a face drawn on it, or whatever.

Guys, how many of you are making your own Slenderseries?

It seems like there are hundreds out there, now.

Do y'all think this will take collective attention away from any given individual series, since there are just so many?

Inevitably, but them's the breaks. We can produce another slight variations on an already-popular trope and hope for a tiny sliver of its existing audience, or we can produce something completely new and get 100% of the zero attention it will get.

/cynic

And yes, I'm working on one. It's bad. Rrrrl bad.

Sigh.

I feel ya.

(I'm also working on a rrrrl bad one.)

Baroness, as long as you don't post in the thread ABOUT your own series you can have it in your signature, or post about it in meta-discussion threads like this one. (But if you get TOO spammy about it I might ask you to pull back.)

Basically, yeah.

I am not working on any sort of Slender series. It's not that I haven't thought about it, but life & lack of computer/artistic skills kind of hinders me.

Instead, my tips came from the youth I wasted on paranormal literature.

A life that gets in the way of slendervlogging, is scarcely a life at all. Sad

As for lack of tech skills, it'd be nice to have some kind of Slvloggers Dating Agency (I know what I mean) to hook up writers who don't want to edit with editors who need a writer, or whatever. Dropbox means that only the actors really need to be in the same general location as each other.

I'm rambling a bit here, but it does have an effect on output. I'm guessing but I'm pretty sure most of these blogs have the same guy as writer, director, editor and lead actor, and very few people are good at more than one of those things. Personally I really regret casting myself in a role that I can't really write out any more, because I can't act for crap. But hey, it's done now.

This is a very good idea. I could definitely use some technical help. Mods? Is this possible? Very Happy

Srsly. Self-deprecation is, like, totally where it's at.

No. It's just when you throw around your weight saying how great you are, you're going to look like a dick no matter what.

Oh, I know, I was being serious. Me saying I'm a rubbish actor now means that the worst anyone can ever say about my acting is "yeah, you were right, you are rubbish". Damage limitation, yo.
