I have seen him play a number of times, but have never gotten the chance to meet Weird Al. Although, I did get to do the next best thing: meet Dr. Demento outside of a Weird Al concert.

I think that's the definition of "serendipity".

Speaking of idols, I was having dinner recently with some friends at Morton's Steakhouse, and who happens to be sitting at the next table over but Don Mattingly, who is only my favoritest baseball player in the history of the universe. Normally I don't get star-struck, living in NYC it's not uncommon to see celebrities...but it's DONNIE FREAKIN' BASEBALL, MAN!!! We were a few bottles of wine in so I probably came off sounding like a drunken idjit, "Wow, Don, it's an honor, really, you're my hero," etc, etc...It's a good thing we didn't have a camera, they guy he was with probably would've slugged me.

OK I'm done, just felt like sharing.
