There is a sign saying that you are not allowed in without a kid?? I have never seen that. I always go in the playgrounds. I actually slid down that big stone slide at Central Park The kids were going to lend me their card board and I played with them in another area.
We'll that treasure has gotta be some where.

sign

i dont know if theres a sign or not but i do believe it is illegal for a man to go into a childrens playground alone and without a child. has anyone figured out what the lotto numbers mean? 20 17 16 14 21 12 8 ? I know in episode 5, Mulligan constantly repeats I CALL!! I CALL!! Maybe this is a clue to call to get these lotto numbers and if it is it would make these numbers pretty significant in my opinion. Also in the last episode, we are told that we should have listened to Mulligan from the very beginning. Maybe we are to follow Mulligans cards only and take the A train to the beach (Far Rockaway) signified by the fish card.

In the FAQ's they stated "don't just start digging randomly. You'll know when you've found it." Right now there seems to be a lot of doubt about the location.

Don't assume that all the clues we've received to date actually leads to the treasure chest. There may be a few more steps involved before finding the actual treasure. With that in mind if you do explore Union Square, or any other location for that matter, I would keep a lookout for additional clues. As I mentioned before, advertisement for General Anesthetics or The Crows Nest, or a picture in a store window of the Maddie Hayes, or a shoe store (circle drawn around a footprint), etc. are examples of possible further clues. In other words, I would be looking for a telephone number rather then a treasure chest.

Question Hunter: Do you remember what exactlly was said in that phone conversation with all those numbers? I called and it is not making sense.

Found it:
"You've reached the pirate lottery hot line! This week's winning numbers be 20 17 16 14 21 12 treasure ball be 8. If you've got the lottery ticket what has these numbers tear up the lot. T'aint what they're for."

So maybe that is not a number we are suppose to call?????

Use of the numbers

Maybe there's an electronic lock on the chest. I guess that wouldn't be very piratey, though. Still, they can't just leave an unlocked chest in the ground. Can they?

OK> If it's NOT in the sandbox (and I still think it is).. Can anyone confirm that there is not a place to dig here:

Clue of Clue would then fit like this:

anyone checking the park, please, take pictures!

Thinking
We Were Told All Clues Are In The Videos

We were told that every clue we need is only in the videos. Right?? If that is so then, are those clues given via other sources out side the videos really clues? I'm not so sure that the mailing, phone calls and the numbers related are really clues. I don't know.

...or access code to operate a sidewalk elevator with a chest of gold coins sitting on it?

Sidewalk elevator? I dunno about that. I was at the playground this weekend and there aren't really times when the sandbox is both open and empty of children. I think I'll just have to make friends with a little kid next time I'm down there. That can only work out well, right? Though I'm still having a hard time believing that they'd bury treasure in a place where people are digging all the time. The playground is called Evelyn's Playground, if that helps confirm any clues that you have leading to it. As far as the other part pointed to on your map, I don't see anything particularly interesting, though there is a mailbox up in a tree nearby.

Walking around the park, all I could think about was the references to "time" throughout the videos. There is a giant artpiece above the park that's all about time; it consists of a clock that counts up and down, a sculpture depicting the timeline of the universe, and a sphere showing the phase of the moon. I could definitely imagine the treasure to be somewhere around the park, perhaps pointed to by imaginary clock hands, 250 ft long and sprouting from the flagpole in the middle of the park, corresponding to some time mentioned in the videos.

Darkhuman & others - I'll be up there the third week of October, and I'm gonna take a few days to enjoy Manhattan. I have a day set aside to work on the hunt. Please let me know if you want me to explore any leads/take pictures.

Any community gardens nearby? I think it would be pretty easy to buy a small plot and then bury a treasure chest.

Re: WLOG Solution
here's my full solve!

Hey DarkHuman - just looking through your solve and have a few more questions for you (for the record, I think its the best we got right now, but the solve has to be bulletproof and some of the following things I'm having trouble seeing right now - your explanations may show them to be correct, or help us see where you went wrong if you are wrong). I definitely don't send these to be confrontational or doubt you, just looking to understand more clearly. My comments are next to your quotes.
