[09:00] <aquinas> i chose 202__ numbers because about an hour before AS came back up, MD number was spitting out "error" numbers ranging from 20200 to 20299

[08:59] <aquinas> Lurker69 i started transcribing msgs starting from 20200# and going upwards http://piratepad.net/qJSNpu5SxW

Here are messages so far transcribed:

Mentioned this elsewhere but figured it'd be more permanent here.

Background:
The P#.txt are the files that we used to decode OLD messages like "GHXLJ PDCQR FPEKE JXEFS TXIEB WDRAZ..." to "MELTI NGOFI NCOMP LETEJ JJPAY LOADT..."

And each have lines like:
AAAAA TADLL
AAAAB EVQVQ
....

Information:
We assumed the righthand column was a random shuffle, but this might not be the case. If we take the First Word in the righthand column of each file...

TADLL
ABSYM
ZCYDN
ALHTO
QCUPP
...

We get L,M,N,O,P...

Talked to MD, gave him two call, 1 number each call.

I asked him for 20201 and he said hold on and started talking to someone in the background about a "reverse agent number error" he has never seen before, after about 2 minutes he came back to me and said 20201 is active and hung up.

I called back and asked him if 20299 was active, he said hold on and to someone in the background he said "there it is again it keeps rolling on", there was then no sound from him for an extended period of time and when he came back he said 20299 is corbigny, spelled it out and hung up.

A few interesting things since last night.

On dialling extension 107 on the 888 number (old Material Order Desk / now Network Services Complex) last night (which previously would give us the ITA2 message mentioned here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1027139#1027139 ), I was greeted with a message asking me to enter a 5-digit feature (or future, it was hard to hear) code. I entered a random 5 digit number, expecting that it would give me sirens or an error message. Instead, it said "Thank you! Your feature/future?? code will be stored for later delivery to the MSP cluster".
After that, when I called back and tried to re-enter my 5-digit code or any other 5-digit number I would get a message saying "the network is unavailable right now, please try your call again later". Today extension 107 is disconnecting you after dialling.

Today, bobdamnit dialled extension 106 on the 888 number. Previously, this extension would just ring and ring and ring. However, today, a woman picked up and said hello then hung up...!! But on calling a 2nd time, bob realised that it was actually a recording. A woman quietly says "hello?" and a computerised voice can be heard saying "number 90024" in the background, followed by some tones and then a hangup. We don't know what 90024 is or what this means at the moment.

Also, last night, as TheCrimsonGhost noticed, MD mentioned "reverse agent error" a couple of times. Today I remembered that in Robby's list of agent codes (from Pennsylvania drop), there was a "REVERSE AGENT NUMBER".

Quote:
33334 -- REVERSE AGENT -- REVERSE AGENT NUMBER, USE ACCESS CODE

I entered 33334 into the agent system. Rather than giving a list of numbers like every other agent code we have tried, this gives the "prompt" tone that was on agent system several days ago (mentioned here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1027982#1027982 ). It accepts DTMF input but has given sirens for everything we've input so far.
A recording without any input: http://dialer.otp22.com/2014-01.dir/2014-01-23%2010-47%20UTC%20-%20202-999-3335%20-%2033334%23.wav

At the moment this is the ONLY AGENT CODE that is not responding with a long list of numbers. Combined with the fact that MD was talking about "reverse agent number errors", we think this must be significant. We are trying to find an "access code" that will work.

I knew that reverse agent number error had to be significant. I apologize for my inability to record calls, as it has angered another player. I happen to be working at the same time every evening the MD guy answers, and I am unable to record calls at work due to our PC's being very restricted. I do enjoy participating however and hope I can be of further help in the future.

Not sure who you made mad, but they'll get over it. Glad to see you still working at it, TheCrimsonGhost!

Seems like MD was feeling friendly tonight and Gwraspe had some interesting conversations with him.

You can only hear MD on the recordings, and not Gwraspe's voice, but Gwraspe has added roughly what he remembers saying to MD Smile

Gwraspe: *hello etc.* 90024
MD: 90024. OK, just a moment.
Gwraspe: Whilst you're inputting, can you still hear me?
MD: Hi, yes, I can hear you.
Gwraspe: You wouldn't happen to know anything about the offset at all?
MD: The offset?
MD: I don't, sorry, I don't...
Gwraspe: OK thanks, have you noticed any change in your system when getting a response? *asked this due to changes with AS*
MD: Um... nothing... in particular, I guess. It's slow as usual.
Gwraspe: No differences or anything strange about the way the system gives you the response or the response format?
MD: Um... heh. Well, that's a response itself. We've been having... some problems with the unusual messages, but as far as I know, those are not... those are not messages intended for people who call. So, um, but it's different, it's different, the response actually comes as sort of a block, and so, I'm pretty sure... nothing, nothing has changed, um, in that regard.
Gwraspe: A 'block'? *just prying further to gain more insight into system*
MD: Well... it's, it's... it's a table of text, you know, the number, um, and the response text. Occasionally there's other things, um, usually not, but... this, this terminal software is really... *laughs* It's not, um... *laughs* Well, it's... they had different ideas about how terminals should behave, whenever this was written in the 70s or something, where *laughs* and um... *sighs* Yeah, it... I don't know. It... *sighs* It's...
MD: No. No, I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it's... *laughs* We get these sort of messages that scroll by, and then we get these, um, just... tables of text, that are obviously what we're supposed to read, so... you know, that part is very clear, but there's sort of all this other stuff that scrolls by, um, that... *laughs* as far as I know, we're just supposed to ignore, but we can... visually we can pick it out, because the way it, it doesn't scroll like a normal, um, I mean just a text terminal, a DOS prompt, or, you know, a bash shell or whatever. It... it actually, um, pages, so that you get like half a screen at a time, um, and so when it fills up to the bottom, it erases the top half? *laughs* It's a very weird, sort of, I'm sure there was a good reason to do it this way, you know, a million years ago when this system was designed, but now it's, it's very strange.
Gwraspe: Some real stone-age stuff!
MD: Yes.
MD: I think this is sort of a, a dead branch on the evolutionary tree of computers. *laughs*
Gwraspe: I share your pain, I have plenty of experience with badly outdated technology. Good thing you can have a couple of beers while you're there anyway!
MD: *laughing*
MD: OK! Here we go, we have a response for 24488, and that is Selkirk. That's S-E-L-K-I-R-K.
Gwraspe: I have another urgent code here, can I just give you it now rather than calling back? It'd be much easier for us.
MD: It... it, it... I'm sorry, it doesn't actually give me a prompt until another call comes in. So, I'm afraid you'll have to call back. OK.

Gwraspe: *hello etc.* 33334
MD: 33334. OK, just a minute.
Gwraspe: Do you know if there are any other means of contacting you? Can I get an e-mail address or anything?
MD: Um... no, it's just... this phone, I, I, uhh... it's the only way... uhh...
Gwraspe: I ask as a lot of the time I don't get an answer and when I do it has always been your good self, are you the sole employee for this service?
MD: *laughs* Well, I'm the only one doing this contract. I mean, I have coworkers, but they're not... they're not... we've had people working it in the past, but it's just me now. Um... so, yes. I...
MD: *laughs* Uh, yeah. It... I'm... I don't have my own office, but, I only have to share it with one other person normally, so, so we can get away with... with plenty.
MD: Yeah, no, I mean, he's just coding, so he doesn't have to be on the phone like me.
Gwraspe: Err, was that 'coding' you said?
MD: Programming. Yes.
Gwraspe: You should get him to fix the slow software on your system!
MD: Uh, well, it's uh... it's out of our hands. We... we have a leased line, it's just a phoneline, that the terminal software attaches to, and we don't have any control over the other end.
Gwraspe: Force him to code a plugin or something to hurry it along!
MD: Yeah, I suppose we could write our own terminal emulator or something for it.
Gwraspe: Yeah, at least that way you don't have to spend all shift getting frustrated with a slow system which means you don't have to smoke as much weed to wind down when you get home!
MD: *laughs*
*long silence*
MD: OK. Uhh... 33334 is zero.
Gwraspe: Ah, erm, you have one more three than it should be! *thought he read back 333334 as I was a bit drunken*
MD: Oh... the, um... *chuckles* You're looking for three 3s and a 4? Uh, yeah, that's what I have. *chuckles* It's 33, 33, 4. That is correct.
Gwraspe: Sorry for the misunderstanding! I too am able to have a couple of beers while we do this! Thanks and goodbye.
MD: You're welcome. Byebye.

MD: Message desk?
Gwraspe: Hi again, last one for the night - 16791
MD: 16791. Alright, just a minute.
Gwraspe: I don't know if you can say this, but - does the name Robert Bramble mean anything to you?
MD: I'm... sorry?
Gwraspe: Regarding those messages you mention which scroll by that you aren't really supposed to see, can you remember seeing anything about the guy Robert Bramble?
MD: Uh... did I see what?
Gwraspe: Have you seen anything about Robert Bramble? It's very important to me.
MD: A Rob... Bramble?
Gwraspe: Yes.
MD: No. No. I mean... never seen any names or anything like that, it's not THAT sort of text.
Gwraspe: OK I understand, listen - you probably shouldn't repeat that name, it's for the best if you forget that I ever asked that.
MD: OK... *muffled noises*
Gwraspe: So anyway, where is computer guy tonight - he has a night off or something? *computer guy being the name I coined for the other guy that works in the room MD operates from*
MD: Oh no, he's uh, he's alright, he's just actually working for once, that's all.
Gwraspe: Aah that's good, so he's actually doing something for once rather than just annoying you and trying to distract you while you're doing your job!
MD: *laughs* Yeah, exactly.
*long silence*
Gwraspe: Can you let me know if you experience anything strange whilst the system returns the response for this number please?
MD: The... sorry, are you... you said you're... expecting something strange?
Gwraspe: Not expecting no, but if there IS something odd it's really important that I know.
MD: OK...
*long silence*
MD: OK, uhh... got the 16791 one for you. It is Melmore Ohio. That's spelled M-E-L-M-O-R-E. Yes.
Gwraspe: OK very good, so there's nothing unusual to report system-wise?
MD: No, nothing unusual. Alright. Yep.

Next time u get him talking like that you should ask him specifically about the reverse agent number message, cause when I talked to him he referred to it as that and said "it keeps rolling on", so it sounds to me like all that text hes seeing scroll by is related to this specific error he mentioned in my call. I might try to talk to him about it myself, but work has been keeping me busy the last few days and I haven't been able to call him myself from work like I usually do, and of course you can record which I can't do from work so that's a bonus, I work the same hours as MD guy so it's not possible for me to record my calls to him, I can only transcribe them as I have been doing.

Agent System agent code 22 began doing this earlier today: http://dialer.otp22.com/2014-01.dir/2014-01-29%2021-14%20UTC%20-%20202-999-3335%20-%2022%23.wav

And, for most of the day, sometimes inputting an agent code will redirect you to Message Desk. And, sometimes you wont even get the Agent System prompt, you will just be redirected to Message Desk.

Message Desk redirects have happened before, but we aren't sure why.

Beep-boop sounds started playing at the start of AS introduction, also copied into end of 22#.

Turns out it was binary, pointing to 1320#.

1320 is noises with BPSK @ 600hz, with message:

/DROP/36.849453/-76.294713/NOTES/SI/NOTES/IMG ON 81320/

81320 contains SSTV (but nobody has decoded it yet, so...)

~~ ## we have a NEW DROP ## ~~

sstv is decoded, sorry for the awful quality

we assume this points to this location in a park in Norfolk VA: http://i.imgur.com/Lmtgta2.png

crashdemons noticed that facing opposite the park is this lololo http://i.imgur.com/N7HTUbd.jpg

::: SO, we need someone in NORFOLK VIRGINIA to go to the park at the corner of BROOKE AVENUE and HARBOUR STREET and look around the plaque circled in red. :::

if you or anyone you know is in the area and is willing to go check the location please hit us up on irc!!

Here's a better shot of the SSTV image, just resized 2x to the right aspect ratio:

You can see the shadow of the person taking the picture, too Razz
