Nice Find!
This looks like originals from printing process. I dont think it is replicated from our jpgs. Who made all this book covers? And why?

Any ideas why twitter reports "Following 272", twitter bug? Rapid deletion? I'm examining everyone who is a follower as well as inputing all book names in to search engines to see if we are missing anymore clearnet stuff. Will report back with any findings!

Just for note, some of the book covers do not match between the Twitter and Tumblr with some design differences.

For Example:

Grain extract showing differences:

Probably just an earlier version uploaded by accident on one account.

Similar to the previous post, there is a book on the Twitter/Tumblr now that has a different Barcode/ISBN between the two:

The first image's text reads: 0 053 165 368867
The second reads: 10 432399 5107467 (the "10" is abnormally big)

I'm not able to scan the barcodes, but they're obviously different from each other just from visual inspection.

we have a _potential_ new drop:

tonight, exciting-books posted this book.

in vertical text to the right of the barcode is "code 128". latent read the barcode in code-128 format with zbar, which translated the barcode to this string: SLUGUTM

Quote:
[23:17] <L0j1k> it may LOOK like a barcode, but it's not
[23:17] <L0j1k> could they be coords?

crashdemons checked the barcode numbers on the "Slug Farms of the Oregon Coast" book, which, surprise surprise, were UTM coordinates for a location near Astoria, Oregon, shown here:

https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=46.1174307103862,-123.874887389293&spn=0.05,0.05&t=m&q=46.1174307103862,-123.874887389293

here is a satellite view of the exact coordinates. it's a park called Lewis and Clark Park. i believe the straight line shape directly on the coordinates arrow is a sign or plaque of some sort, similar to previous drops.

closest street view available, coming up to the parking lot: http://i.imgur.com/e4cM8DC.jpg

so once again, we are hoping to find someone near ASTORIA, OREGON to check out this exact location in Lewis & Clark Park, past the parking lot toward the river, between what seems to be a shed/garage/shack and the river, right on the arrow in the above image. if you know anyone in the ASTORIA or WARRENTON who is willing to go check it out for a possible drop item, please get in touch here or in our IRC channel #arg on freenode (webchat here)

** i'd also like to add that it _appears_ to be a public park from what's on google maps, but if it turns out to be private property i obviously don't recommend trespassing.

To me it looks like the drop location is right on top of a bush (little green nub). But then again, we know by now that some coordinates are exact and others are just close - so anyone we send should be aware of that.

Used to be involved with ARG in the early 2000's been a lurker for the past five years. Saw that HuvR page trending on the internet and thought I'd check in on the ARG community. Went to go check out trailheads and I saw the (303)-309-0004 number at the beginning of this thread and decided to call it.

Called at 0745 GMT expecting a prerecorded message having not read through the thread instead I got a series of "Beep Beep BOOP" four times in a row followed by a live human greeting me with "Message Desk". Now it being late and me having had a couple beers I panicked and hung up.

Honestly I wouldn't be posting this here except for the fact that after searching this thread and the associated wiki I saw that you were all using (202)-204-2303 to reach the message desk but I seem to have gotten it on (303)-309-0004.

Now if I am just SO out of the loop that this comes off as idiotic and naive I apologize. I just remember how much the news that a number, site, or email had reactivated could help when I used to play and as far as I can tell you haven't been using this number as of late.

Most people just dial the 202 number by default; it's at the top of the list on the auto-dialer.

As far as I am aware both numbers have been mirror images of each other for a long time.

It might be a good idea to read the OTP22 wiki and familiarize yourself a little bit. The message desk person you called just takes a number and gives some other information back (often more numbers).

See that's what I loved about this community back when I was active. Even if someone blatantly seems uninformed (like myself) unlike every other corner of the web you're actually helped along instead of scolded and flamed.

So thanks for that and I think I will try to get involved again.

I'll be setting up that auto-dialer tomorrow morning.

Oh and sorry about reaching the message desk and squandering it. I'll make sure to be useful next time!

Hi Kraysh!

You definitely did not squander anything! Message Desk has been around for a long time, and we hope he will be around for a lot longer. Had you known, you could have talked with him. For future reference, you can read through the following website and get familiar with how Message Desk works.

http://sukasa.rustedlogic.net/MD/Index.aspx

It basically works like this: he answers, you give him a number, he takes forever to respond, but you will get a response. Sometimes, very rarely, he will hang up on you.

You are correct that Message Desk has it's own telephone number. But lately Agent System numbers have been redirecting to Message Desk.

Here is our wiki, which is fairly up to date as far as phone numbers and the storyline.

http://otp22.referata.com/wiki/Main_Page

Hope to see you active, and feel free to join our IRC! It gets quiet in there a lot, but we have a lot of dedicated users and when important things happen, it livens up pretty quickly.

As we all know,While the mobile phone brings great conveniences to people, it also raises new challenge on the security of confidential work. In recent years, the wiretap, cheating in examination, medical negligence and gas station explosion with mobile phone occurred and it has aroused great concern of the society. Maybe it's one of the reasons that promoted the appearance of mobile phone blocker. You may be watching a nice movie or enjoying your nap when you get free for sometime. Still you have chances of getting disturbed with your most loved ones and close friend chatting near you on the cell phone. At such hours, if you really care for your free time then you need to buy a cell phone jammer.

A few days later (and currently):

I dropped it in IRC but it's been pretty dead, so maybe dumping it here will get the message out better. Links go to relevant information.

Drop is apparently in the Rohnert Park Library in Rohnert Park, California. Information is a few days old, who knows how long it'll stay there.

E: Complaining to nobody, but it'd really be nice if links on this site stood out more. I've been marking them in bold so they're visible.
