Agreed. This series has a sense of reality unlike most other series. Remember watching one of your first series and thinking to yourself could all of this really be happening? KG captures that. I don't know if it's the acting or just the story (lol), but it's refreshing.

Well then. Smoke alarms are still going off on her no matter where she lives. I'm getting a vibe that KG could be modifying the black dog mythos or adding to it to create the ash and smoke detector connections. According to the hurried conversation there, Story thinks it's all connected so it likely is.

I hope we get another more informative entry soon.

Her friends are...odd. It's almost like they desperately don't want to believe that anything's going on. Despite having evidence shoved in their faces. (Creepy faceless guy in car, smoke alarms messing up wherever Story goes, picture evidence of dog.) Or possibly some type of magical mental filter-y thing going on?

Not sure how prevalent the idea is these days, but I remember there was talk of one of Slenderman's 'effects' being that he casts a 'weirdness filter' on those he was stalking and everybody around him. Basically it caused people not to care or really think about the weird/impossible things going on around them even though they were easily noticeable. I've always liked that idea, and I definitely think that could be happening here.

Actually, I think her friends reactions are quite understandable.
As a viewer, I know that what's going on is supernatural, but from the POV of her friends, it's just Story acting weird.
The evidence so far is easily dismissed as Story's paranoia creating something out of nothing.
And if my friends were acting that way IRL, I would react the same way.

I agree with Perilous - this series has a sense of realness and authenticity. There have been some moments that I almost forgot it was acting.

I might be concerned that she's blowing things out of proportion, but at some points it seems as if her friends don't even want to believe anything has happened at all, supernatural or mundane-including the things that have happened to them. Which is why I think there's a weirdness filter going on.

Or, conversely, her being isolated is necessary to the plot. XD

Just in case anyone missed it, new tweet:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Woke up very early this morning with the weirdest feeling. Exhausted and scared. Apartment door was unlocked and left ajar. No one here..."

And in response to some questions via twitter, she said 1. she's not sure if management changed the locks when she moved in 2. she has not altered her medication routine.

She's recently tweeted she's going to start filming the door at night. So, she's either going full-on proxy and we'll see her leaving, or something's creeping in on her and we'll just see the door open with some distortion.

I like the people saying that they would play off some stranger watching them in their homes as nothing.

I'll see you in the missing persons reports.

Did Story ever give us any information about the place where she found the mask in No. 12 - The Bridge? It seems like it must be significant, and I keep coming back to it. This is total conjecture on my part, but maybe it's tied to the recent tweets about finding her door open (i.e. she's unknowingly going there during the night). But I have no idea if the bridge is anywhere near where she lives now. I was thinking it might be in some kind of communal space in her family's neighborhood since she had to open a lock to get past the gate.

Holy crap. What an entry that was. This series just keeps getting better and better I swear.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I guess it's confirmed then. Black Dog.

"The Dog appears to stalk (and sometimes kill or attack) those bearing large, well-kept secrets. It will mark them with two scars
on their face (similar to tears) and then bring them objects related to their secret."

Taken from http://thefearmythos.wikia.com/wiki/The_Black_Dog

Although it doesn't ring terrifying, it is definitely suspenseful and unnerving like the Slender Man. It also means this series has a chance to go 'psychological thriller' more so than most other series.
The prospects are exciting.
