BASE64 + Railfence with 3 fences gives:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
THOMPSON PARK ANSWERS.

Could be all of it is one sentence, as in
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Thomson Park answers story, you know.

Edit: No such place around where she is, apparenly. Do we know where that is?

The only thing that i could find was (after i combined the coordinate with "thompson park" and seached for it) was this:
http://goo.gl/maps/W1Pnj

Thompson Park
Watertown, NY 13601, USA

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Thompson Park. The historic Thompson Park itself is a large, city-owned public park featuring tennis courts, playgrounds, a public pool, multiple picnic areas, large open fields which host various sports and activities, an 18-hole golf course, multiple hiking trails, and many picturesque views of the city of Watertown and surrounding areas due to its very high elevation. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect who designed Central Park in New York as well as many other nationally known sites across the country. During the considerably snowy winters in Watertown, the park offers many large hills for sledding, as well as multiple cross-country skiing trails throughout the park and surrounding forests. Each summer, Thompson Park also hosts a firework show and live symphony orchestra show on the Fourth of July.

But somehow i doubt that this is what we´re looking for Sad

That looks like a bloody big park on google maps. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunate, I don't know any US geography, so for places I'm not going to be able to help. But, seeing how big that park is and considering I don't know where this is based, I would say that's a very logical suggestion.

I thought for a minute that maybe we've got the proper latitude coordinate, and the longitude line we need passes through this Thompson Park, completing the set. But there's a ton of "Thompson Park"s in America alone, so cross referencing would be difficult.

Latitude N40 degrees by 20.1225 minutes passes right about through the middle of America. Looking at a latitude map, it seems like it passes close to one of the first results for Thompson Park, a place in New Jersey. Not sure of the significance, but I figured I'd at least point it out.

It's all speculation here, though. Maybe we're just missing the next plot point?

I just found an interesting thing about that:

Quote:

The parallel 40° north passes through the cities of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Columbus, Ohio; as well as northern suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana and Denver, Colorado. The parallel goes directly through the Port Columbus International Airport, with runway 10L-28R lying immediately north of the line, runway 10R-28L lying slightly south of it, and the line going through the northernmost edges of the terminal. It also passes through the main campus of The Ohio State University.

Baseline Road in Boulder, Colorado traces the parallel 40° north.

Thistle, Utah, a ghost town since 1983, is slightly (30 seconds) below 40° north.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40th_parallel_north#United_States
Quote:
Starting at the Prime Meridian and heading eastwards, the parallel 40° north passes through:

[*]California
[*]Nevada
[*]Utah
[*]Colorado
[*]Nebraska / Kansas border
[*]Missouri
[*]Illinois
[*]Indiana
[*]Ohio
[*]West Virginia
[*]Pennsylvania
[*]New Jersey

So we would have to look which of these states have a thompson park with the right Latitute.

Does anyone know what part of America Story is in? That may help with finding the location

Not that I'm aware, but I'm not about to ask her for fear of being a creepy internet person. If I had a twitter, maybe I'd ask her if she's anywhere close to the 40th parallel.

A minute of latitude is almost equal to a nautical mile, so our line is about 23 miles north of the 40th parallel. A big difference in the end, but it can be used to approximate for now. I've been referencing the Thompson Park thing for awhile, to no effect. I'm going to go back and try to find something else from the old videos for now.

I'd like to figure this out before the PM has to drop another hint, I feel like it's easier than we'd think.

Hmm, it'd be interesting if she lived around there, but 37km isn't too far to travel. Especially if it could help her. Something off topic but interesting, my south coordinate is 41 degrees south.

Didn't she say that she lived in Texas?

Edit: Finally caught up! Have to say, found that video boring. That's the kind of thing that would have been better as tweets. Though I do like the bit of lampshading in the previous video. "Why does everything have to be in code? That makes no sense, I don't even know codebreaking!"

Well I'm at a loss then. 40E and 40W aren't in America so that doesn't work either. Although the northern part of Texas, according to Wikipedia is 36 30' North. If she lived right on the edge, that's only a 4 degree difference. Which is quite a bit, but just pure number wise, it isn't.

There's a Thompson Park in Ohio, iirc, with a .. faceless boy haunting it? Sumthing like that.

Edit: I have no idea where I got this from. His name was Johnny No-Face, but I find little if anything of him on the Internet, and nothing at all to connect him with Thompson Park in East Liverpool.

Actually, I just meant that it's too inaccurate to consider the 40th parallel to be equal to our line, save for speculation purposes. I'm sure that if she can reach the 40th, she can reach the one we've got. Sorry to confuse.

That's an interesting point about "Johnny No-Face," considering what we're dealing with here. I can't find anything either, but at least it's a cool bit of local lore. Interestingly, the one in ohio is pretty close to our line. Our latitude number is equal to 40.3354 degrees N using standard decimal notation, and the place in ohio is at 40.64078 degrees N. I wonder if this is what we're after?

If anything, it's weird that so many Thompson Parks are clustered around this one line of latitude.

I doubt it. I found a comment about him on a Youtube video about a lady haunting Thompson park in Ohio, and a very short story about a Johnny No-Face who was struck by lightning in a different park, but that's it. I was probably just grasping.

Well, I've been casually looking over stuff this past week to no avail. Either I've passed over a blatantly obvious answer (likely), we did something entirely wrong to begin with (possible), or we're missing another detail from the dog/slenderman/maskface/darwin.

I don't think my idea of cross-referencing the longitude of Thompson Park was right, though. Our line is probably going to come up again, and Story's probably going to have to make the trip up to it, but cross referencing it like this just seems too hit-and-miss for a navigational coordinate.

I'm going back to the codes for a bit. Maybe we slipped up there somehow?
