Remarks on 63

OK, I put up an Entry 63 page at the wiki, and tried to record the dialogue as best I could. If you have fixes or alternate readings, please contribute!

http://marblehornets.wikidot.com/entry-63

The main thing that I thought was odd was that Jay said (at around 2:25ish) that someone had taken Tim's medical records from HIM (Jay) and put them down in the tunnel. What an odd thing to say! . . . Unless Jay had them before and had decided to hide that from us until they were found again in the tunnel....

The trucky place didn't much look like downtown.

It actually reminded me of the tanky area in "Slender," the game. Agree?

Jay says, "I didn't know those were gonna be down there in that tunnel. Someone obviously took them from you and left them there for me to find..."

I do admit it sounds like he says "took those from me" but he does say you.

Yep -- Jay says, "you." Which is still a tad strange, you know. It's not like people usually keep their medical records in their homes. The records Jay found in the tunnel would probably have to have come from some kind of clinic or hospital, right? I'm assuming for the moment that Jay is speaking figuratively here, acknowledging Tim's right to private records rather than the literal theft from wherever they were kept.

The two don't correlate. We got far more in terms of content in season 2.

15 pages into the thread, this horse has to be dead by now, right? Do we have to keep beating it?

Pravado, you've watched this series about as closely as anybody else; now that everybody knows how you feel about the entry, I, for one, would be much more interested in whatever insights you've got into where the guys will go from here.

Hey, if anyone has anything to talk about that isn't "the character development" or something likely inconsequential, I'd be game for it. As it stands, I sympathize with Pravado, it just doesn't seem like there's very much to say about this entry.

Masked man
Umm... Just an observation

Tim is still the masked man, right?

Is it really a good idea for Jay to be running around at night in the woods with a violent lunatic? Even if (heck, ESPECIALLY if) he doesn't recall his actions?

I honestly don't know what they're planning. They're obviously saving the reveal of hoody and the operators motives / what the ark is until later on. i just hope we get enough in between so it's not just a wild goose chase to find out the mysteries we've wondered all along. i want to see more mentioning of the operator in dialogue, have them capture and interrogate hoody, and somehow restore tims memory and have him tell us things he's done

No, no we didn't. Not in several of the videos.

Agreed, we're 10 entries into this season, and we've had an Operator sighting in the present, allusions to someone's past with the operator, a masky attack, hoody directly intervening, and Jay's made a friend who's not quite on the same page.

By the 10th entry of season 2, we had a dissapearance, a masky attack, an attack on masky, allusions to someone's past with the operator, and jay found a friend who wasn't quite on the same page.

Plenty has happened in this season so far...it's not like season 2 was jam packed with answers and action in every entry

And I still say that Tim's going to make the investigation a lot more proactive

Good call. On that note, I'm a little perplexed by Tim saying something to the effect of:
Quote:
TIM: Well, right now the only lead we have is Rosswood, so we're gonna have to go back there sometime soon.

Why does he think that? They don't have any particular reason to believe that if they go there, they'll find out anything useful. It's just a place where supernatural things keep happening. In that sense, the red tower or "Brian's" house are just as much "leads" as Rosswood. Why not start looking there, at the beginning of Jay's investigation and Alex's troubles? (I know, Rosswood's significance may predate everything, but the point stands.)

And let's not forget: Rosswood is huge. In 42, Jay says he encountered the Operator a couple of miles into the woods. We've already seen a parking lot and an adjacent meadow, a wood with at least one dense grove for Alex to disappear into, some trails, an area with ruined chimneys, an entire abandoned hospital complex, a massive tunnel, the building from 52, and the "Hoody Hut." There might be more that I'm forgetting. Rosswood is so huge, in fact, that neither Jay nor Tim, both of whom have been running all over that place for years, appeared to recognize the area around Hoody Hut (a healthy dose of memory loss there, but still).

So when Tim says "Rosswood" is a lead, where exactly does he think he's going, and what could he expect to find there? Wouldn't they make more progress at a library or on the internet or something? Town historical society? University department of folklore or anthropology? Now that they have one another's experiences to flesh out the holes in their own stories, it should open new avenues for research, right?

tims car got wrecked in a car crash irl

An active seizure disorder also prevents people from driving - you have to be seizure free for 2 years to drive in the UK (very occasionally 1 year if there seizures only when sleeping). Not sure about the US, but NZ's similar. Some people continue to drive, but their insurance then isn't valid and they would be criminally liable for any harm done to people or property. It's likely Tim's doctor would have told him he can't drive.

Interestingly, I've been thinking about Masky and was reminded of one patient who would have a prolonged personality change after a seizure (up to 3 days) which turned a very pleasant and caring person into a monosyllabically aggressive person. Could Masky be a similar thing?

OOG
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A car crash certainly puts a different perspective on the wait. Glad all were OK

yeah well that's not the case cause tim was driving in 59 sooo yeah

Or Tim "doing OK" means he hadn't had a seizure for some time (he was Masky when he had his other one caught on camera, which if he is to be believed, he doesn't remember.

Probably not a major plot point, but I thought it interesting.

Possible OP sighting

At 4:49 is the clearest sighting, in front of one of the trucks farther back there's a dark spot and what looks like a head near the top of the truck. The odd thing is that earlier in the vid at the same area the same image shows up, however as the camera pans back it's gone. It could just be an optical illusion but I just thought I would bring it up.
