this is the most confusing game ever..

apparently they have deciphered the scroll themselves..:

Quote:
There have been some extraordinary things discovered about SQN recently. We have documents in hand that prove the SQN cabal not only exist but they have ties to SQNB. Plus we have new evidence that SQN killed a Mr. Whelker that was feeding us information about SQN - we quickly provided this to the Swiss Gendarmarie.

We have also decoded the message from the scroll it reads: SQNABOUTTOKILLANOTHERVOLUNTEER [they used a one time pad cipher]

We think it's Consuela Gonzales. Anybody with information pertaining to her whereabouts contact us immediately!

And we know where she hangs out:

See the thread on who speaks English..

Maybe a moderator can merge that thread with this one..

I received an email from Rev. Arthur Foshay asking if I would be willing to send emails on behalf of Pacem, so of course I agreed and received an email containing a an attachment and the names of people whom I should send it to. I did as asked and two days later received another email from Rev. Arthur saying that my life could be in danger as the attachment was not encrypted

In the interest of completeness, TallulahBelle's cipher is actually the key to the one time pad cipher pulled from Nj's scroll.

Must find out what they used to pull out that middle section of the ciphertext.

So.. what do we know so far.. (probably not complete, but I will edit when I find more information..)

we have 2 organizations: Sine Qua Non (SQN) and PaceM. (Peace and cooperation through Evolving Methodologies)

The Story so far
We do not know much about SQN. SQN has the goal to keep religion out of politics. A letter was sent to a player to invite him to be part of that cause.. Apparently they are in the game of doing that since the 9th century.

SQN has a lot of secrecy, and cannot be found on the internet anywhere.. They allow only a few players into their mids, and there is a middleman called Harrold Luddwick sending out assignments to this rare pool of players..

PaceM is run by Thane Joie, the appointed president. Besides running PaceM, and trying to spread peace, Thane somehow is set to destroy SQN.

Pacem, at first glance seems to be a proper legit organization. Their mission statement reads as follows:
Quote:

We believe internet technology will create a worldwide society, eventually being shaped by people actively seeking a peaceful proto-society. Native peoples will play a large part in this transformation by leading the way. Thereby bridging the technology gap, creating a trans-cultural experience. PACEM is uniquely situated to fill this strategic niche.

Fundamental changes, or a paradigm shift if you will, in science/technology, religion, politics and nationalism have to occur before that can happen. We refer to this as the prototypical Mayan transformational theory. Which is the theory of a society doing an about face, a polar shift, an alignment of ideas, cultures, and mores in a unique way.

We feel that if all people approach this with an open mind and open heart, a true Mayan transformation can occur, but instead of localized to Mayan society, a world-wide change will shift the balance toward peace, in fact, an inherently peaceful global society cannot become a reality unless disparate religious belief systems are taken into account. Pacem seeks to understand the dynamics of the interconnections between religion, technology and politics/international relations. PACEM seeks to bring about a world-wide peace which has never been possible in remembered history.

However when you sign up as a volunteer it becomes clear that Pacem (or Thane??) has a grudge against SQN.
One of the posts on the blog even speaks of the death of a PaceM volunteer that was killed by SQN.

PaceM then closes the volunteer blog, because someone is spreading email addresses.. Is this the end?

apparently not, since several weeks later the site is reopened.

A document in puzzlepieces start to appear, related to SQN.

We also get fed information about a recent abduction of Hans Whelker. het works for Swiss Quest National, a bank with the same initals as SQN - Pacem wants to know what the relationship is.
Pacem organizes 2 volunteer meetings, however, due to timedifferences or bad communication, none of these gets attendance.

More document start to appear, some of them with codes embedded.
These documents can be found on the SQN wiki (address below)
These documents apparently prove that SQN has been around for a long time.

In the meantime the players identify Sir Cadman as the traitor that spread the email addresses .

SQN pops up, and wants pieces of the wiki removed, without trace.. - we are still not knowing how this would be possible..

Hans is found - murdered. PaceM thinks its a warning sign, not to spread information to them within SQN.
Pacem starts an investigation against the bank.

Suddenly a character using different email addresses called the oracle pops up.. and sends out stuff to the players

Rev. Arthur Foshay is now head of volunteers. since the old volunteer quit.

A volunteer, Consulea Gonzales (IG, not a player) is finding information about SQN and is giving it to PaceM, but she goes missing. There is also evidence that SQN is putting out a hit on her.
She is last seen in Mexico City. guarda.lacabla is the hitman?

Pacem puts out a list of potential SQN members

@draghkar I think that about covers it. In one of the attachments pamzoid received there was a list of names related to SQN.

Antonia Eccovista, Italy
Jacques LaVoisier, France
Ingrid Larsson, Sweden

Do we have any further information regarding the hushmail e-mails? I contacted Luddwick to see if Guarda LaCabla is working for SQN.

My recent assignment for SQN has mostly been to keep Brooks distracted through comments on the wiki, as opposed to making changes to the wiki itself.

Did anyone notice that on the PACEM blog there is a countdown to the Mayan Transformation on December 21st, 2012?

edit: I'm not sure that there is anything significant with the Mayan Transformation. I contacted a few PACEM accounts yesterday inquiring about the organization.

The Mayan Transformation is only a way-point along the road to eventual peace. Many people await the M.T. with hope and expectancy it is a chance to pause and reflect about the world's current condition.

I have recently become intrigued by PACEM through my studies of SQN. Perhaps you could enlighten me about your organization? What might you tell me about the Mayan Transformation? In reading your mission I took it as a continuous goal, but seeing that you have the date listed on your site I would be interested in how this shift might take place so soon.

Sincerely,
S.L. Polaris

EDIT: Update from Luddwick

You've done a good job, basically removing him from the equation. Nobody (except PACEM) will believe him now!

That's bad news, it basically means we can no longer play an active role in SQN. I can still give out assignments, but I need to keep a low profile.

Tell no-one my email address, then I'll probably be safe.

Yes, Guarda is an assassin we occasionally use.

Thank you, I have tried. Brian Brooks is a fool and too blinded by his dedication to PACEM.

Harold, perhaps you could answer a few questions for me. Does Guarda Lacabla work for SQN? I believe he is being held for questioning...

Also, I should warn you that PACEM has these names as associated with SQN, including yours: Antonia Eccovista, Jacques LaVoisier, and Ingrid Larsson.

I hadn't considered checking his name, but Brooks updated the wiki with this: Guarda LaCabla = Guardian of the Cabal

Two new players to the wiki (from PACEM): Dr. Djamdi and Dr. Levitskaya.

Okay, need a bit of help here. I responded to guarda sometime ago an received secure e-mail via Hushmail. I am down to two tries.

Quote:
Question: What's the name of the person who betrayed SQN?

I have tried:
Guarda LaCabla
Consulea Gonzales
M. Hans Whelker

Thoughts?
edit: I feel foolish for not starting with the list sent in the recent e-mail. My initial thoughts were that it wouldn't be any of those people and that was why they were contained in that attachment.

First off, uF is freaking addictive. I've spent the better part of a day "Catching up" with various games, lol. That being said, is it still possible to get into this game? The whole concept of "Religion vs. Politics" is def something that interests me, and this game seems pretty out there in difficulty trying to understand it, which i'm totally into.

So, not to be TOO much of a noob here, but if it's even possible to get in on this, how would one do so at this stage in the game?

Interpol has apprehended Guarda LaCabla on suspicion of planning to murder one of our volunteers.

and this one posted by Dr. Julio Caracasus
Quote:
I am the anonymous tipster that informed the police (link to the article below) about Guarda LaCabla. I hope they find out what he was doing in Mexico

with a link to the following document:

I signed up for the PACEM Volunteers, and recieved an email from Arthur:

Subject: Welcome

James -
Welcome to the ranks of PACEM volunteers! I'll be your volunteer coordinator.
-- Arthur

I replied asking what I might be able to do to help. Arthur's reply:

Cc: Thane "thane@pacemblog.org"

Jim -

What I need help with is someone to bounce ideas off. Like, what should I do about the logo, accept it "as is" or ask the person who developed it to tweak it, or should I have another person take a stab at it?

The mock-up using the new logo is here.

- Arthur

And for those interested in seeing said mock-up:

On a side-note, good job on the logo, whomever made it, but I personally don't think it quite goes with the feel of the site itself, with the fountain pen and the old-timey parchment background, hehe. Still, good work!

Also, sorry I didn't post this a bit sooner!
