I'd raise the point that the blog section of the chart barely covers even the smallest fraction of all the crossovers, but considering you want the chart to be, ya know, legible, I think that issue can rest. Wink

As for this debate on crossovers, I'll throw my opinion in: I believe crossovers can be done well, it's just that they usually aren't. Most crossovers are clearly done not for the sake of the story, but for the sake of crossing over with someone else. And because of this, they end up derailing the plot, rather than advancing it. There's blogs like The Mystic, or Records of an Impossibility, both of which I loved and which had a strong central conflict, but ended up spending a long time in the middle of their story running around dealing with other people's problems instead of, ya know, dealing with the story that I had come to read.
A good crossover shouldn't be a one time event where two characters meet up, have a brief adventure, and which is never mentioned again, but something which advances the plot of both stories. If I can completely skip over all content relating to a crossover (which is something I have done before on certain blogs Rolling Eyes ) without missing anything important, then it's not a good crossover.

That sounds about right.

The crossover is for the sake of a fan of one or both series. If you're interested in both, watch the crossover. If not, then not. It's not necessarily a "bad" crossover because it's technically skippable. And the crossover is meant to connect the 'verse with their characters' similar experiences, not necessarily to advance a story. It can be, and when it is it's pretty cool, but it's just as "rewarding" for some (not all apparently, but whatever guys) to see some of their favorite characters meet up, or to discover a new series that they might take the time to watch and possibly enjoy, then it's all definitely worth it.

Let's take my series for example (This is for StanFrederickBTS. I'm trying to not be as spoilery as possible): My whole second season literally revolves around crossovers. The actual plot of this season centers on Stan travelling across the country, looking for others that share these experiences, in an attempt to either recruit them or leave them in the same hole that they had started in, depending on whether they accept his "invitation" or not. So far I've crossed over with AnOnlyPuppet, Octarinenight, and BrokenBranches117. I have about seven more crossovers planned (as the chart says) before the season is over. By the end of the season (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Stan reflects briefly on EVERY crossover, stating how each one has taught him something important.

Now that doesn't necessarily mean that, A, you have to watch the series that I'm crossing over with, or B, as a result of A, that the crossover is bad, especially because it helps move my story along.

I really hate the fan-perspective on crossovers. As creators, it's so fun to make content and collaborate with other creators, share ideas, and even create something together. We get so excited to make something that other creators would see, and find cool because they don't really miss out on everything that the 'verse has to offer like a lot of fans do. And before you hardcore fans say something, I said a lot of fans, so you don't necessarily fall into that majority. You know who you are.

At this point, I don't really make crossovers, or my videos, even, for the regular viewers anymore. If they watch it and like it, I'm grateful, as always. But I get most of my good criticism, my drive to make videos, all of it, from the creators, because at times, not only do they know what they're talking about, they can relate in the "it's-a-process-to-make-this-content-and-we-want-to-have-fun" thing I'm talking about.

Went a bit off-topic, but yeah. In my opinion, crossovers are fun. I know there are plenty that disagree, and if you do, that's cool. I'll continue doing my crossovers because it's awesome fun and such a learning experience when it comes to working with people.

*gears this thread back on topic*

So, uh... Stopping Lights did a small, discrete crossover with The Outside Agents and also crossed over with Hiking Fiend.

Stopping Lights has a proxy blog named The Master Comes.

Both crossed over with Dare 2 Die, Declare Entry, The Master Laughs, and Willow Oakington.

Willow Oakington and The Master Laughs were connected to each other.

Dare 2 Die has a sequel: Declare Entry

I feel like there's another connection to my blog SL but I don't recall it :c

As co-creator of TheDeadAreWatching, I can promise to all of my viewers that we will never crossover with any series! [/shameless]

I almost completely forgot about this thread. I really don't want to have to keep updating the image as new crossovers happen, but I made this last edit. There's some mistakes, still, and I'm sorry. But of course I didn't watch all these series; a lot of this info I got from viewers and creators alike. So, from here on in, if anyone feels the need to edit the web and add/remove stuff, feel free.

EDIT:
CHECK THE FIRST PAGE FOR THE UPDATED VERSION EVERY TIME MORE CROSSOVERS ARE ADDED.
I WILL ONLY SAY WHICH CROSSOVERS WERE ADDED IN MORE RECENT POSTS.

(Updated on 2/17/13)

I still find it funny that Marble Hornets is just sitting there in the corner, not interacting with anyone else.

Did R01kile ever cross over with anyone that's currently displayed on the Crossover Web? If not I can still add it, but it'll likely be off to the side, not really connected as of yet.

KVDR did not crossover with ProjectEgypt... it's a part of the plot.

Dude my head is so full of fuck with this project I completely bypassed what I already knew.
Once more "recommendations" come in for other crossovers to add, I'll add that to it. My bad. Embarassed

OctarineNight have had minor StrangAeons and FallBlackStar crossovers (fallblackstar being heavily connected to anonlypuppet)

God this little octarinenight/stanfrederick corner is getting messy.
