hen the original concept of a fully exacted crossover between Tribe Twelve and EMH was floated, everyone got butthurt.

Well, once a crossover reaches a certain state of being annoyingly convoluted, I might as well just not follow either series. So, it doesn't really make much sense to get upset.

So much crossovers... so much to read... and so little I can complain about most of those series...

This is why I hate crossovers and why they put me off a series.

It's why I set out to create my own universe with a no-crossover rule.

Just popping in to point out that Testing 123 became Risk Death, which crossed over with the Tutorial, among many other blogs.

Cross overs hurt my brain, I almost completely stopped following a lot of the blogs I used to enjoy for this reason.. and that more than half of them stopped posting halfway through their story.

There is a bit more crossovers than I thought. Can you link a bigger version of that image a bit more spaced apart It will be good to mark off.

edit: Marking it off it is easy to see where I should look next: http://i.imgur.com/iFnT2.png (Compile Truth.) and then finish off everything on the left hand side.

Also crossover to add: Turntomemories - and the other sequel to TJAProjects.

Ideally you'd have a big tumblr account (or something like that) where you link all the videos from x number of vlogs chronologically so people can watch through them all in order. But again, not an offer.

See, I never understood that, it makes no sense.

You don't have to watch the series that's adjoined with another just because they're crossing over. You could stick with your one series, which usually briefly (at LEAST) explains that the person they've crossed over with has "shared similar experiences". A lot of people really enjoy finding new series through crossovers, myself included.

I just don't get what there is to complain about, just stick with your own series and deal with the fact that people like working together to expand a universe.

That's pretty much the problem right there. None of it ever makes any sense when you compare the two series. The rules are always different, Slendy works differently, the proxies are different.

It never fits together properly so it doesn't feel like one universe.

This isn't like Disgaea where characters appear in multiple games as cameos. Those games work because they all have the same tone and follow the same rules.

I have problems having it as "Around this person Slendy acts like this, but around these people Slendy acts like this, but then around these people Slendy acts like that."

Say two different creators are friends and they create separate series but choose to have the same tone and very similar rules: Then it might be fine. But just the vast differences creates the problem of all these series not fitting together well.

I think it can work if they don't make a big deal about it being a crossover and just get on with it. In an ideal world, Randolph from UndulatingCybrox's crossover with the HiddenVagenda crew would be worth filming even if he's just some guy you've never heard of. You'd get enough of a sense of who he is from watching it that you don't end up watching all of UndulatingCybrox just to establish that no, there wasn't really any build up to this cross over.

(By the way you guys should all check out this new Slendervlog called UndulatingCybrox. It's recorded on Betamax and buried under Stonehenge... OR IS IT?)

And also what HunterEris said.

A crossover that had been planned well in advance and set up over a number of videos could actually work fine. You could establish that the two series take place in the same world, maybe throw in a few references that link them together ahead of time. But again, there's got to be a reason for it. We all remember this, don't we?

And now I direct you all to the blogverse's solution to the tonal issues with crossovers. You're welcome. http://takethemyth.blogspot.com/2011/08/more-travel-and-page-theory.html
