I think we're at that stage of the "game/not a game and this real and we're all gonna die or go to jail" stage where we just need to proceeed as if it is a game and assume the best of the PM's hard work. Otherwise we aren't getting anywhere in the game itself, just fretting.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A Public Statement: Some Truths

A Public Statement

I would like to make something very clear; I did not go public with our investigation.

I will repeat that; I did not go public with our investigation.

I was contacted by a reporter from the Tamworth Herald as you can see from the picture below.

I refused to comment and I asked him not to publish his story as this was an ongoing investigation by me and my team here. We have been working very hard over the past year towards one goal; exposing 'The Shadow Cult' for exactly what they are.

This news story went ahead anyway after I asked him not to publish; you can imagine our anger and upset over this. Now the Cult knows we are investigating them and can work against myself and the rest of the team.

We will however use this media attention now that it is here to our advantage by spreading the word warning people about this group.

When we are ready we will publish our evidence.

Dr James Vincent

Chief Investigator, SFPI.

Now my vote is back to, "Not a game." -_-[/url]

a post on facebook:

Once I have the families permission to go ahead I will be publishing my interview with an ex-member of the Shadow Cult on my blog. Hopefully by this weekend, I want people to realize exactly what this group does and how they exploit people. The families wishes will always be my first concern however as they have already been through so much, the last thing I want is to cause them any further trouble.

I agree. Anyway, the point of ARGs is that they are supposed to mimic reality to a certain degree, right? So proceeding as if we wanted to help out and proceeding as if it were a game to play should require close to the same actions, with perhaps a bit more caution on the reality side; and that never hurt anyone.

I think the press statement confirms this is a stunt.

If this is a super-secret operation which they were not telling anyone about, then how on Earth did the man from the Tamworth Herald find out about it?

Whois says:

Dr James Vincent

This is also the address for University of Central Lancashire

Just checked and there is no James Vincent, Dr or otherwise on the academic staff of uclan nor New College Oxford.

Interestingly Tamworth does have a paranormal group and a few ghost hunting groups.

This looks pretty interesting so far so I might stick around.

Has anyone e-mailed him saying you received or saw one of those shadow cult cards?
Without mentioning ARG. See what he has to say about it.

Also, It only says on his facebook he studied at New College, Oxford. Not that he taught there. Unless I misread of course.

Edit: Has anyone tried contacting Paul Kemp? Who apparently works for the Tamworth Herald.
His E-mail is on the hotmail image on the site.
So is the phone number for the Tamworth Herald.

I tried calling, but it wouldn't go through.

Have you seen the latest replies of achiepop on the newspaper article..

quitte interesting..

."this man is seriously deluded.

This is his most recent post:
http://tinyurl.com/9majs5o

Now, I have no reason to disbelieve the Herald, and emails can be fabricated. What does worry me is that I asked a direct question of this so called 'Dr' and he hasn't answered it. I also asked on the Facebook page, but was blocked, so the question went unanswered.

I would be very wary of this man - rather than of this fantastical 'shadows' group."

maybe this achiepop, whose profile lists as a Darryl Steventon knows more about all this then he lets on..

Very interesting indeed. Their Facebook mirrors much of the same content and has a photo of the article in question. Joined facebook on September 17, has made regular (if largely generic) posts since then, only getting into the "cult" question in recent weeks.

I just don't know!

I must admit, whatever this ends up being, I really love the ambiguity. But yeah, I have no clue.

You're right. Let's do this. If it is an arg, I have to give the PM major hats off for the TINAG quality.

I'm going to email the Dr. Vincent and say I got one of the Shadow Cult's cards, then send a message off to Archiepop.

Maybe we should trigger a cult response.. someone with an unused facebook account dressed up as being a cult member or something becomes friends with the dr. and then posts a message on his wall with the words..

we found you..

what do you guys think of that suggestion??

Anthony black is at it again:

And here:

Upon this I started to investigate further into this cult, and found the following statement:
Quote:
"I recall they were quite open with the police in that they said they were there to celebrate the Summer Solstice and some were members of a group known as the Order of the Silver Star which has been linked with the sinister Cult operating out of Tamworth 'The Shadows'.

Source: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/the-shadow-cult

So what do we know about "The order of the silver star" Do we need to dive into this order a bit more?

A guy called Lucien tells us the following:
Fyi: Order of the Silver Star = Ordo Argentium Astrum = A:.A:.= a living spiritual tradition

Its apparently derived from the golden dawn : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%E2%88%B4A%E2%88%B4#Name

Another post on that board I mentioned above says:
Quote:
I do know something of this group, they used to meets at the 'tweedale', get juiced up and make for the woods. It was (back in the 80's) a huge group led by a rather diminutive gent whose name I do not remember. I think drugs were involved as I saw a werewolf once!
There was indeed something quite sinister behind the group that most of the members were quite unaware of. But that, as they say, is another story.
Anthony, you may want to check out the bloodstain on the door of 'the Spital'.

I will confront James with this information.. see what comes from that..

EDIT

Sent him the following email, lets see what it will do:

Quote:
James,

I recently came across the following information for you.. were you aware of this:

Do let me know if this helps with your investigations..

Another thing that comes to mind is that Anthony Black might know more to aid your investigations..

EDIT2
I started a pinterest board with some images that might be of relevance.. will keep pinning these..

for those interested, feel free to have a looksie..

And the answer from James:
Quote:
Hi,
I am already aware of this information but thank you for bringing it to my attention.
There are links to the Spital Church in Wiggington, Tamworth.
This group has it's roots deep in the History of Tamworth town.
A lot of influential people are members; PO, Judges, Councillors. This is how they have kept secret for such a long time.
Anthony is shall we say...an 'unofficial' investigator on the team.
He is a bit off a History buff, so he has helped a lot on that side of thing.
He wishes to remain unknown in all of this as he knows just how dangerous this Cult is.
We have to respect his wishes

still wondering why Anthony keeps posting things within his circles though.. especially if he wishes to be unknown..

Any of you live close to Tamworth to investigate this church?

And then:

are does not autocorrect like that.. Is this the confirmation we are looking for?

My reply:
Quote:
always been interested in the occult, trying to help you UNF the investigation..

And his reply to that..:
Quote:
"I do. You can help by spreading the word about the Cult and the story. Raising awareness is important now the investigation is public knowledge. "
